KyotoLefty (10688) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 29, 2015
Bottle from Landbierparadies. Cleear golden color with a fine, pillowy head. Lightly hoppy nose, grass, crackers, bread. A bit stale tasting, some cardboard, light grass. Low carbonation. Smooth. Not distinctive, and doesn’t really work in the bottle.

Bottle bought at Landbierparadies Nuremberg. Looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, more and more spicy. Background a bit metallically hoppy. Finish a bit dry. Still okay.

McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JUL 7, 2014
Bottle from Landbierparadies. Pours out in a clear light golden colour with low airy head and medium body. Aroma of light hops and malt. Taste of light malt, mild hops, mild fruits, straw and grains. Boring and uninspiring beer but drinkable and solid.

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2016 Bottle purchased at Landbierparadies, best by Feb. 11, 2014: Pristine golden. Fine-bubbled white cream adorns the glass with spotty lacework. Bright minerals line the aroma along with lemon candy, herbs, phyllo/croissant, lemon cake, and lightly toasted hay. Soft, tight carbonation. Firm hoppiness yields a wealth of robust herbal notes along with a seductive lemony elegance to match. Drying twinge of minerals fuses with an equally snappy interplay of baguette and bouncy hay pils malt, although the faintest note of fuzzy DMS blurs some of the vivider elements. Finessed toasty edges exude gracefully, but the malt is also quite soft, and much grassier than it is sharp and edgy. Bright lemon candy Spalter character exuberantly zings with a lip-smacking succulence, throughout. Forceful punch of saliva-inducing lager yeast firms up the core, but is quite clean and nonintrusive in its delicate pistachiolike nuttiness. Finishes richly haylike and honeyish, with a clutch of crisp minerals capped by a lemony succulence. A mostly clean example marred slightly by a minor note of DMS. Otherwise a well-hopped Franconian helles that’s quite sluggable.

Golden with a small white head. Malty aroma with grain, bread crust, some hay and a hint of fruit. Sweetish malty flavour of grain and bread, with a mild bitter finish
