bottle from landbierparadies. dark amber with not much of a head; hint of bovril in the aroma and some golden syrup; light bitterness, somewhat tinny; not a lot of dark flavours but ok anyway

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted nuts, toasted bread, caramel, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with notes of toffee, marzipan, orange zest. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Another winner from Staffelberg. I like this brewery...they know how to make a beer enticing, clean, and balanced. This is a session beer and how!

500ml bottle. Clear dark copper colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-ay lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with a nuttily touch, hints of husk. Taste is caramel malty with a nuttily touch, dry husky overtones, nice spicy malt touch.

Bottle looks very simple, but okay. Beer in the glass brownish, nice small head. Starts mild, fine malty, dry, not too roasty. Mild metallically notes. Finish still mild, dry, a bit boring. Malty notes could be more intense. Okay.

(bottle) pours a clear ruby-amber colour with a small off-white head. aroma of roasted malts, barnyard, caramel and sweet spices, a tad musty. flavour is mostly strongly roasted malts with a hint of coffee, finish is like hamster-urine though. medium body and carbonation.

EithCubes (5751) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 23, 2012
Bottle by 26.10.12. Nose dark toffee and earth, caramel, light hops. Deep amber-brown, dark with a short sudsy beige head. Not really all that sweet or bitter (do we call that balance?), hint of sourness that seems like it might be the winner. A little more fruit in the mouth than nose. Heavy medium-full body, too heavy, and sharp with a crisp fizz. Faint nuts and hops.
