dark deep brown liquid, thick creamy silky head, looks stable and solid. slightly see-through. aromascape comes with rye, bread, roasted malt, cream, liqorice, nuts and chocolate. taste is sweet and crispy; solid but light, very low bitterness. balanced and light overall. the body is medium light, and within that lightness comes a full roundness. liinis (1773) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 6, 2011

50 cl bottle @ home
Rather light, hoppy and fruity aroma for a porter with some yeast and hints of coffee. Actually feels a bit like a pils with some roastiness. Flavour is fruity and hoppy too with some roasted malt and coffee. Also some berries and caramel. A bit too much CO2 on palate. Feels a bit thin for a 7% ABV beer. Decent, but I like my porters more roasty and less hoppy, fruity or sweet. This was better on draught some months ago.
50cl bottle from Alko as Stallhagen winter porter. Poured almost black with a brown lasting head. Aroma is liquirice, oatmeal and roasted malt. Flavor is oatmeal, liquirice, hint of alcohol. velvety smooth palate, ashy, bit salty finish. Quite nice baltic porter. ration (2245) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 18, 2011

Pours dark ruby red colour with a large, beige foamy head. Aroma of mild toasted malts, light fruits, ashy chocolate, mild liquorice and some distant berry-like notes. Flavour of toasted malts, chocolate, mild coffee and ash. Medium bodied, a bit watery palate. Inoffensive.
Pours very dark red with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with spices. Flavor is pretty strong with roasted malts, alcohol and spices. Pretty good Christmas beer.
