Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2011
It’s black with a huge, light-brown, creamy and lasting head. The aroma is mild/light with notes of roasted malt, light smoke, dark, preserved fruits and licorice. The mouth-feel is full. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, licorice, light smoke, dark preserved fruits, whipped cream and the finish is slightly dry – a nice one.

[email protected] Bank, Turku. Deep rubyish amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is spill water, mild liquorice, toast as well as some maltyness. Flavour is mild roast, some liquorice, alcohol as well as some dark fruits. Mild vanilla as well.

FatPhil (16345) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 19, 2011
500ml bottle (VikingLine XPRS) as "Pig and Rooster Baltic Porter"
6 Deeply roasted mashy aroma, some sharp burnt ffruity sour bute (but not acidic sourness per se) like old bottle conditioned guinness.
5 Black, and a hauge tan head, which settles to a ring.
7 Huge roasty taste. Anna says ashy, bit I think it’s just nicely burnt and short of ashy. 4 Full palate, crisp carbonation. Finish very roasty and burnt, some woodiness too. Late finish has just a gently bitterness.
15 Covers the 7% very well, I could stick pint after pint of this down me. Really burnt, but in no way astringent. Great baltic stout, all it needs is some more aromatic hops, and it would rock.

Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - FEB 19, 2011
Draught at Black Door, Helsinki. Almost opaque black color. Roasty aroma with coffee, salty licorice and dark bread. Sweetish flavor with coffee, toffee, dark caramel, some crisp sulfur and maybe hint of whisky and vanilla. Full bodied. Fairly balanced and good porter.

MikeKeller (954) - Kemi, FINLAND - FEB 17, 2011
Draught @ Olutravintola Kukko, Kemi.
Very dark brown porter with a roasted malty and chocolaty aroma. Taste is rich in malts, moderately roasted with chocolaty and licorice notes. Nice body, tasty porter.

TBone (17676) - Pori, FINLAND - FEB 17, 2011
[email protected] Urho’s Pub
Dark brown, almost opaque color, small steady creamy off-white head, lace. Light toasted aroma with some papery-malty notes. Medium to full bodied. Sticky, almost a bit jelly-glueish palate. Berryish flavor with cocoa, chocolate maltyness. Sticky alcohol in the finish, also some licorice and vegetable notes. Good body, but unfortunately this brew is way too unbalanced and has not much of typical Baltic Porter character.

rosenbergh (11578) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 30, 2011
Draught at Gastropub Nordic, Tampere, Finland.
Dark almost black colour with small creamy tan head. Very mild roasted malt aroma with some lactic notes. Roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, liquorice and some sweetness in flavour. One of the best Stallhagens.

mjs (7467) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 30, 2011
(Draught at Pikkulintu) The beer poured very dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and very light brown. Aroma had roastedness, chocolate and mildly metallicness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, malts, chocolate, metallicness, hops, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, roasty and bitter. A really tasty beer.

lusikka (7814) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 29, 2011
Tap @ Gastropub Nordic.
Pours a very dark brown, almost black colour with a creamy head. Aroma of pleasant roasted malts and dark chocolate. Flavour of smooth roasted malts, some hops, dried fruits, licorice and coffee. Full bodied with a very smooth mouthfeel. Thick and round finish. Very good.

tiong (7338) - Espoo, FINLAND - JAN 24, 2011
Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma has hints of liquorice. Tastes like a proper porter, well balanced. Dry, not very sweet.
