330ml Bottle- Very dark brown in colour and almost black. Malty aroma with liquorice and aniseed. Rich, bitter taste with plain chocolate, coffee and some aniseed. The richness is not so noticeable after the first sip and it becomes quite smooth. Good quality and it has some porter leanings. The best Ålands beer I have had so far. "Stallhagen Dunkles Export" (I’m assuming it’s the same), on tap at Captain’s corner, Viking line. Dark, roasted maltyness, nice slight smokyness. Soft mouthfeel. Flavourful, much more than your average dunkles. Not that far from a light stout. KnutAlbert (6753) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 3, 2007
Bottle, thanks PC!
Dark beer with light brown head. A lager, but related to a Baltic Porter, appropriate to its origins. Nice flavour of roasted malt, som nuts and coffee. Dry coffee and liquorice finish. I’d love an extra strength version of this! Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2007
Bottled. Very dark brown coloured with a dense head. Malty aroma. Sweetish malty flavour with roasty notes. Soft mouthfeel. Nice.

Very dark, almost no foam. Malty aroma that doesn’t really say much. Almost like a normal lager at first, but the finish has some coffee. Despite that it’s still a bit disappointing finish, but an ok beer. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 9, 2006

(Bottled) Very dark brown, almost black, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Strongly roasty, sourish-malty aroma with licorice and hints of smoke and milk chocolate. Roasty and burned-malty, slightly smoky flavor with dark coffee, and a long, lingering, burned-bitter finish. Plenty of color malts here, yet remains somewhat balanced with other stuff. Medium-bodied, burned, slightly foamy-, but smooth-carbonated palate. The recipe has definitely changed since the first reviews... This one you can almost call a "slow beer"!
, was 5-3-5-2-10=2.5) Very dark, reddish brown color with almost no head. Sourish, malty aroma with metal hints. Sour-roasted-malty, dryish flavor with some burnedness, licorice hints, and mild bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated and slicky palate. A very nice and balanced, licoricey-roasty dunkel.
Bottle 33 cl, Alko Stockman, Tampere. Pours pitch black with a frothy brown longlasting head leaving nice lacing. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, sweet, fruity, hay, slightly acidy and nutty. Flavor is sweet, roasted, malty, fruity and bitter hoppy. Light carbonation, very drinkable. Finishes a bit sweet and then nice not too strong bitter malty aftertaste. Bottle 33 cl. Poured dark brown, small head if any. Aroma was very sharp smell of a backroom in a barn. Flavour is burnt grain mostly. Odd one. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 5, 2009
Near black colored with medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma with thin licoricy-saltiness and smoke, nice aroma indeed. Medium bodied, smooth palate. Flavor is similar with roastiness dominating in start, aftertaste is sweet with licorice and caramel, aftertaste turns to salty and slightly bitter. Finely balanced dunkel.
