Bitter and roasted. Quite unpleasant taste when fridge cold, but considerably better when a bit warmer. Very heavy taste.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a dense and lacing brown head. Roasted malt and chocolate dense aroma. Flavour is light roasted malt with a light acidic touch and a mild sweetness. Ends bitter and acidic roasted. Ungstrup (37867) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 12, 2008
Bottled. A deep red beer with a small but dense brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate as well as a light note of roasted malt, lending it a slight acidity. The aroma is sweet malt with notes of roasted malt, lots of chocolate, and light notes of capuchino. It has a nice body. More like a stout than a dunkles. beeR (61) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2008
33 cl bottle. Very dark brown and clear. Tan creamy head but brief. Pleasant coffee and roasty nose, not strong but rich; some liquorice and nutty hints. The flavor is more sweet than expected, evn if a roasty and coffee character outcrops after that. Medium body and low carbonation but quite mouthcoating.
Another pleasant discovery in Finland. PotjeBier (3450) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2010
33cl bottle. Color almost black. Lots of toast and roast, coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Sweetish mocca flavour. Bitterish finish. Clean tasting and very flavorful brew.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2011 Stallhagen Dunkles is almost black beer with a medium and large bubble head. Aroma is pleasant: combination with roasted malts and sweetness plus some smoke and sourness. Flavour is very similar than aroma: some sweetness, roasted malts and still some smoke. Quite easy to drink and there could be more body. This was my first time to drink Stallhagen Dunkles, but better later than ever. Convincing beer and I will bough this also later, nice beer. hallinghansen (3196) - Odense SV, DENMARK - MAY 27, 2009

Bottle 33 cl, Alko Stockman, Tampere. Pours pitch black with a frothy brown longlasting head leaving nice lacing. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, sweet, fruity, hay, slightly acidy and nutty. Flavor is sweet, roasted, malty, fruity and bitter hoppy. Light carbonation, very drinkable. Finishes a bit sweet and then nice not too strong bitter malty aftertaste. rosenbergh (11610) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2011
330 ml bottle. Finland.
Black colour with red hue and small light tan head.
Strong and good aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, salt and soy sauce.
Roasted malt, liquorice and salt in flavour. Quite fizzy. Solid brew.
Best of the 14 Stallhagen brews I’ve tasted. I was really surprised how good this was.
