Bottle 330ml. Black colour, brown head. Smoke in aroma, also roasted malt and chocolate. Sweetish aroma, coffee and more roasted malts. Slightly watery finish. MikeKeller (956) - Kemi, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2009
Bottle. Dark brown beer with a beautiful beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some liqourice and chocolate too. Tastes roasted malts and maybe a little bit of smoke aswell. Burned malts in the end. Medium body. Overall not a bad beer from Stallhagen. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2011
The color is black with a red hue, and the head is creamy and light-brown. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, slightly wourish licorice and hints of smoke. The mouth-feel is oily. The flavour is light to moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, slightly sourish licorice and the finish is dry – a nice dunkles. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - FEB 25, 2012

Re-rated during SOPP in June 2006 (draught) and April 2007 from bottle. Very dark brown colour iwth huge beigeish brown head. Aroma is smoke and lots of roasted malts. Flavour is lots of smoke and roast with some weak hints of caramel. The roast stays for long in the aftertaste. Not sure if it’s a new recipe, or if the "later" ratings just have aged properly, since it was a brand new beer in October 2005 (first ratings, it used to be the beer of the month on Hyvät Olutravintolat -"chain"). Not it’s turned out to a really nice dark beer. 7 4 7 3 14.

(Bottled) Very dark brown, almost black, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Strongly roasty, sourish-malty aroma with licorice and hints of smoke and milk chocolate. Roasty and burned-malty, slightly smoky flavor with dark coffee, and a long, lingering, burned-bitter finish. Plenty of color malts here, yet remains somewhat balanced with other stuff. Medium-bodied, burned, slightly foamy-, but smooth-carbonated palate. The recipe has definitely changed since the first reviews... This one you can almost call a "slow beer"!
, was 5-3-5-2-10=2.5) Very dark, reddish brown color with almost no head. Sourish, malty aroma with metal hints. Sour-roasted-malty, dryish flavor with some burnedness, licorice hints, and mild bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated and slicky palate. A very nice and balanced, licoricey-roasty dunkel.
Draught. I really wonder if they’ve changed the recipy since the couple of first reviews? This thing is very thick and smokey, almost like a celtic porter! Very strong tobacco and smoke aroma. Quite bitter, roasted taste of malt. Almost completely black with just a hint of red. Lovely roasted finish. liinis (1775) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 29, 2008
almost black color, tan head. quite nice in total. roasty with a bit of coffee liquorice but very faint. something missing. needs a bit more kick. austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - JAN 2, 2009
Dark brown to black, tiny tanned head. Bitter coffee aroma, little raisins and dark chocolate. First there quite a lot of metal, but it fades out quickly. Strongly coffeeish flavor, dark chocolate, mild smokiness, dried fruits and liquorice. Kinda Impyish flavors, though a lot milder. Light to medium bodied, easy lush carbonation. Alright low ABV sipper, better when warm. madsberg (11774) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2009
Bottled (Thx. to jutuahol for bringing it to B’lore). Dark reddish brown coloured. Huge dense light brown head. Lasting. Aroma is light roasted with a touch of liqourice, chocolate and a grassy herbalness. Flavour again is light roasted. Has some coffee and cocoa notes. Is medium bodied. Dry. Ends on a light roasty bitterness with a touch of chocolate. Quite nice.
