Dark brown colour with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, mild coffee and some caramel. Flavour of roasted malts, licorice and brown sugar with a mild bitter finish. Medium bodied. A good Dunkel.
330ml long necked bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a light brown head. Aroma is roasted maltiness, a bit of smokiness, more than a hint of salty liquorice. Taste is much of the same and the salty liquorice comes through even stronger as well as hints of coffee. Palate is quite light, but not watery with little carbonation. laiti (8481) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 3, 2011

Aroma has coffee, roastiness, some chocolate and metal. Flavour has chocolate, coffee and hints of metal. Very much elements from stout. Good dunkel, although the metal disturbs me a bit.

hotel in MAriehamn, Åland. They call it ’Granit’ (=eng. ’Granite)’ at this place if you ever get to visit. It’s almost opaque red/brown in colour. It has a rich brown head as well. Thearoma is malty and hoppy, with a sweetness to it. It tastes of burnt malt and it has a sweet and dry aftertaste. Compelling.
Bottle (Thanks Patrick) at "The Amberspecialist" before a KTL concert. Black (almost) - offwhite head. Burned, berries, licorice, dark bread, dry burned, light sweetness, nigh malty. Smooth. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 14, 2008

Almost black, tiny head. Sweet coffee-like aroma. Pleasant mouthfeel - soft and smooth. Slightly gingery hints to a dark burnt malty taste. Sweet and not astringent given how burnt it is. Fairly good dunkel.
330ml Bottle- Very dark brown in colour and almost black. Malty aroma with liquorice and aniseed. Rich, bitter taste with plain chocolate, coffee and some aniseed. The richness is not so noticeable after the first sip and it becomes quite smooth. Good quality and it has some porter leanings. The best Ålands beer I have had so far.
