As Stallhagen Honungsöl, with different label than shown here. Lacing, snow white, stable head over a yellow blonde, clear, fizzy beer. Aroma yields a volatile whiff of honey upon opening the bottle, but this fades away as quickly as it came, making room for less enchanting impressions of skunked ’lightstruck’ effect, breakfast cereals, soggy chicken corn, grass, some vague flowers and minerals. Clean, pretty much neutral onset, some minerals merging but no esters, prompting me to conclude that this is in fact a honey lager; some malt fruitiness shows up after that, grainy, vaguely sweet and a bit metallic, with thin mouthfeel. I get near to no honey in the flavor. Finish adds some grassy, lightly bittering hops. The overall effect is closer to a bland pale lager than to a true honey beer, and that is probably what this is - if you insist on ’pimping’ a pale lager with honey, then do make sure the honey is at least noticeable (see some of the Dutch examples)... Quite a surprise, but not in the positive sense.

SvanteL (645) - SWEDEN - JUN 1, 2016

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Malt sweetness and honey scent. The taste is really good. The taste and smell are similar. Light bitterness which fills the front of the mouth a weak moment. Easy to drink summer beer. Served ice cold. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
