I like that they’ve used honey in moderation, but a little bit more would have added to the product somewhat.

Zarkam (539) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 11, 2013
500ml bottle from supermarket in Kotka, extremely pale golden colour, small white head aroma of cereal, some honey and a hint of grassy hops, fairly pleasant bittersweet aftertaste, medium body. Quite well-balanced, which is unusual for honey beers, but lacks character, more than in bulk lagers though.

0.5L bottle from Finland. Flat head, golden body. White top. Taste is good and round. Clearly taste of honey. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle. Clear light yellow body with a off white head. Mostly malty, with some notes of honey and hops. A bit artificial in the finish.

500 ml bottle as Harald Viikinkien Voimaolut by Stallhagen. BB 01/05/2014. (Prisma) Helsinki, Finland.

Clear golden colour with a tiny white head.
The aroma is some toffee sweetness, soap, mild malt and some mild hops. There’s not that much honey but some general sweetness in the aroma. That’s a good thing. Let’s see the flavour. It could be also fruity and sugary sweetness. Hmm... no it can’t... it’s very sweet honey... ewww... yukh! Unpleasant sweetness. I can’t stand honey... if I wasn’t clear enough... well, I try to find something else there too. There’s malt, some hops and cardboardy sweetness. I don’t like this.

Klen och blek. Har förvisso precis klämt en tung barleywine. Känner inte mycket av honungen som skulle tillföra något. Smakar mest lite off

On tap @Stallhagen, rated from backlog. Clear golden with white head. Aroma of honey mainly, some malt and hops. Taste is crispy, malt and honey dominates but with a backing bitterness.

50 cl, bottled. Pours clear ochre with a nice white head. Aroma: Grainy malt, grassy hops. Taste: Medium sweet, mild honey, grass. Malt. Mild but lingering bitterness. Palate: Quite light body, easy. Average carbonation. Mild in general. Decent.

Very nice honey flavoured beer. Warming. Easy and enjoyable. Very light hopping.

2.3
mikkopen (1195) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2012
500 ml bottle. Clear pale golden colour, thin white head. Mild aroma of malt, grassy hops and a hint of honey. The flavour is like the aroma, light, malty, with a little honey and a mildly grassy-hoppy finish. Boring, and with very little of the honey promised in the label.
