COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewmaster, Mats Ekholm, was inspired by the red brown granite of the Åland islands when he developed Stallhagen US Red Ale.

Before Prohibition, American Red Ale was a popular variation of the Irish Amber ale in the US. This top-yeast beer was made of domestic, American raw material. The ale is relatively light but clearly hopped with definite aromas of dried strawberries. The full bodied taste has notes of coffee with smokiness from roast coffee.

New keg, the first half-pint from washed line. Clear deep amber-copper color, good creamy beige head, lace. Tacky, leathery berryish aroma, some passion fruit and strawberries. Medium-bodied. Rye bread, caramel, light berries, some bitterness in the finish. Feels less than 6 %. Quite typical US style amber/red ale. And for the masses as hop bitterness level is quite low. Clean, but uninspiring.

Tap (Old Bank, Turku)
Rich aroma, a touch sweet, a little roasted, some coffee even. Clear bold red, brief keggy head. Full palate, a little sweet, nice carbonation. Great full grainy husky body, nice roast, great earthy bitterness. Finish packed withthose hops, very dry, husky, barky, and earthy. Nothing like a US red as I imagine it. Very solid brew, packed full of flavour. So dry.

Bottle shared by TomHendriksen @ random tasting. Lightly unclear dark orange color, average sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, hops, lightly overripe fruits. Tastes about the same: malts, hops, lightly caramel, overripe fruits, moderately bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Reddish amber color. Lychee and grassy hops in the aroma. Grassy citric hops, red fruit and hints of coffee in the flavor. Soft hopbitter finish. Fairly well balanced. Pleasurable beer.

330ml bottle shared with Finn and djoeye. Fair fawn-coloured head. Next to clear amber coloured body. Faint lacing. Sweet citrus on the nose, including a note of ripe oranges. Sappy taste profile of juicy malts, lomon and orange, mid-sweet. Drying citrus peels to the ending. Well balanced. Soft on the swallow. Nice and tasty (Tromsø 27.08.2014).

Draught at The Oak Barrel, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, Finland.
Clear red brown colour with small creamy light tan head. Fruity floral hops, wood, nuts and malt in surprisingly good dry aroma. Bitter hoppy, fruity, grapefruity, dry woody and malty flavour, quite alright. Dry bitter and malty aftertaste.
