Aroma: karamel, rozijntjes, moutzoet. Medium body. Smaak: zoet, rozijnen, tikje chocolade, karamel, cocoa powder, wat geroosterde mout, aangenaam hopbitter. Perfect klassiek lekker bruin.

Tasted at De Stokerij, a place in Ghent I enjoy a lot, from tap. Apparently not made anymore - had it there in August 2013. Creamy, stable, light beige head, deep ruby red colour with brownish hue, misty. Aroma of caramelly malts, banana, chocolate, dried plums, raisins and a hint of old single malt. Taste of dark fruits (candied dates, pear) on a caramelly and somewhat chocolatey maltiness, a bit yeasty, gentle roasted bitterishness in the finish, medium long hop bitterishness. A dubbel if you ask me - but considering the lack of interest in styles typifying Belgian breweries, I won’t argue about the style given above.

Dark brown, a lot of beige foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet beer with bitter dry ending. Aroma of cocoa and roasted malts.

Draft sample @ Eetkaffee Multatuli in Gent. Reddish brown with a tanned head. Nose is esters, caramel malts, faint bitter herbs, light cocoa and caramel. Taste is sweet brown sugar, light cocoa, light coffee, caramel, light herbs, light bitter grass in the back. Easy to drink. Pretty simple, well-done but I expected more character from De La Senne honestly, this tastes very general. It is pretty likely that they were just working on commission here. Still more than solid enough brew.
