Perfectly-kept cask at the Lamp Tavern, Birmingham on 30th December 2016. Crystal clear amber with thick, lasting creamy-white foam. Hoppy, yeasty aroma with sweet malts. Rich and intense bitterness in-mouth. A solid, full-on bitter finish. Light mouthfeel and body. Absolutely exquisite.

Cask handpull, The Lamp Tavern, Brum, 23/04/11. Deep gold with a low white lid and ruff. Caramel and stone aroma. Slight and caramel-rubbed; herbal tones, fern, biscuit. Cooked vegetables softly regurgitated. Pleasant enough. Pisswatter.

Cask at The Bakers Arms, Broad Campden, Glos’, 06.08.10 Pours dark gold, light amber with a white head. Nice refreshing session bitter, in fact this was much more assertive in the bitterness stakes than I can ever recall and I’ve had this a few times now but never rated it. Malty and then drying in the finish, a very reasonable beer but defiantely playing to the far superior Hobsons Twisted Spire which was in very good form and in an altogether different league. downender (8891) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2010
Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 2/08/10. A rare appearance for this brewer in this city. Copper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Light, malty aroma of caramel with a hint of fruit, followed by some leafy hops. Flavour had some cereal malts, a touch of fruity sweetness and flinty edge, before a long, bitter finish. Very good.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2010
Cask. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a small off-white head. Lightly tart minerally aroma. Light body, flat, lightly fruity and spicy with a fairly hoppy finish. 160110

Cask conditioned handpump Lamp Birmingham. This was either not right or totally not to my taste; I reckon the former. It’s copper with a white head. Veggy notes and big ugly malts throughout. Didn’t get any bitterness just a bad dryness. Not cool unlike the pub.

RichardGretton (4788) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 26, 2008
[email protected] Criterion, Leicester. Flat looking amber beer with a very strong and slightly vinous aroma. The flavour is very dry and very well hopped. Overall a watery and very dry beer with not a lot about it.
