A smooth slightly hoppy semi-dark Vienna-style lager. Nothing intense about this beer, but it has a full flavor with very little or no aftertaste. redletter (8) - ENGLAND - APR 1, 2004 does not count
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2004 An excellent, if far to little known Czech brew. A bit like the town it is from - Brno is a great alternative to Prague just as StaroBrno is a great alternative to Staropramen! Both are a bit more laid back and sleepy, with a rustic tinge.
just another good, simple czech lager.

Brought to me by a colleague (thanks Wim) from Brno. Starobrno Cerne on the label, 3,8% alcohol. Thick creamy head that you can almost cut with a knife. Malty aroma and flavor: caramel, cherry and a hint of smokiness. Rather thin. Toasty bitter aftertaste. Just a hint of sourness coming through. Lovely beer with a lot of flavor for its modest strenght. rozsoma (1023) - Gyõr, HUNGARY - NOV 20, 2009
A refreshengly good beer with dark amber colour and medium body. Brown sugar, caramel and toffee notes in the aroma. Sweet malty flavour with short duration. The best from the Starobrno brewery.

Bottle. Reddy Brown with a beige head. Don’t know if it’s fair to call a mixture of Cerne and Pilsner a Vienna but what do I know. Sweet malty flavour verging on over sweet. Nice roasted character and a certain hoppy dryness. Very nice. dwyerpg (6188) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 12, 2007
Good looking red beer. I visited the brewery while in Brno, and they said this is a combination of the svelte and cerne. Nothing is really outstanding about this beer, but luckily the cerne flavoring dominates the svelte, making it passable. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2008
Bottled. Deep reddish amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, yeast, some grass as well as wooden hops. Flavour is sweet caramel malts, some mild yeast and quite much grassyness. As it warms up it gets some slightly metallic notes. D (577) - Gdynia, POLAND - MAY 10, 2008

The bottle looks really good, also the crown cap. Quite dark in the glass, much fine foam. Flavor mild-malty, a little bit smoky. Little notes of plum. Very drinkable!
