Bottled. Very dark ruby red colour, mediumsized beige head. Roasted malts in aroma along with caramellish hints. Caramellish malty flavour with roasted hints. Caramellish, sweet sugary, aftertaste. Quite standard good dunkel from Czechia. TBone (17783) - Pori, FINLAND - JAN 22, 2006

Almost opaque ruby color, good tan head. Crisp lemony malty aroma.Roasted, ryeish, medium-bodied, a bit herbal flavor. A spicey too.
(Bottled) Deep, dark, very reddish brown color with a small head. Some roasted malt and licorice hints in the quite mild aroma - maybe too cold. Smooth, licoricey, lightly roasted maltiness with slight sourness and a dryish, burned finish. Sweetish, yet balanced body. Light to medium-bodied, slightly sugary, quite low-carbonated palate. A reasonably enjoyable, sweetish and bitterish brew with a nice flavor and color. "A sweeter Guinness by the Czech". pilsnerrogge (2972) - Finspång, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2005
Dark brown with a large, rich head. Malty aroma with touches of nutmeg and liquorice. Roasty flavour with more liquorice and nutmeg. weepingsuds (223) - Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - JUN 10, 2005
Best Czech beer to date, this will have you looking at the bottle twice. The bottle comes with a neat pull tab, almost like a hand granade. Pours into a glass nearly black with virtually no head. The aroma is very spicy and really pulls you in for that first taste. Full flavored throughout the sip, toffee, caramel, and who knows what else. In fact I need another for further review!

Bottled. Dark brown. Sweet and roasty with clean, hard mouthfeel and notes of coffee and chocolate. salty finish. dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - MAR 29, 2005
Bottled. Darl, clear ruby red colour. Quite foamy, big head. Chocolatey, caramelly aroma. Has some coffeish notes as well. Quite bitter, chocolatey flavour. Unfortunately, this beer is a tad watery and thinbodied. dwyerpg (6286) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 18, 2005
Smells and looks great! Stout too! This is one great stout, er...dunkel, whatever that is...it’s one area of improvement is the same that all Czech beers should have, a more prominent finish. haf (530) - Gijon, SPAIN - JAN 18, 2005
Buena cerveza, que ahora me de cuenta la unica cerveza chaca negra que conozco. Negra con un sabor dulce y cierta terminacion a chocolate y a regaliz duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 10, 2004
Bottle. Dark for a dunkel. Looked much darker than the picture to the left. Pretty smooth palate. lightly roasty, with caramel, and some light nuttyness. Slightly sticky at the start, but generally smooth. It didn’t blow me away, but it sure is drinkable.
