COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hoppy aroma.

colinize (316) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2012
Staropramen pub at the Prague train station. 55 minute train delay. Here on a rec from Damen. Beer is decent. Reminds me of Sam Adams. Not much on the nose. Flavor is middling. Crisp, minor hop flavor, not much malt sweetness. Easy drinker - goes well with food.

Mélysárga, enyhe vöröses beütéssel, szép habbal, nem túlzottan érdekes prágaisöröző-illattal. Íze ennél összetettebb, az erősen komlós, a korty vége felé (kicsit határozatlanul) malátás jegyek kellemes pörkölt felhangokkal idézik be a barnasörös világ jellemzőit is. Fellelhető: Adria Sétány 8/a

Bottle. Hazy light amber color with a thin white creamy head. Aroma is butter and sugary malt. Sweet taste with a slightly dry finish. Some bitterness.

Malty and smooth, not the same bitterness as the paler Czech beers. Works well with heavier food.

Bottle. Amber colour with a small white head. Both aroma and flavour of malt and hops.

golden, red, clear but darkish enough. ’Garnet’ says it all. Much more complex than the Staropramen Lager.... from the moment you pop the cap off this is evident. Highly drinkable but at the same time can sit back and enjoy its roasty, semi clove, light carmel, with just enough hoppy aftertaste bits to where u say wow! interesting beer. Head dissipates quickly after 2 minutes... which is understandable for its use. It is not over carbonated by any means. nice balance.

330 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on January 22. Pours clear pale amber with a frothy white head that leaves some lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet with caramel and some bread. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter and quite malty with some dark bread, grass and some caramel. Finish is slightly sweet and slightly bitter.
