COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hoppy aroma.

33cl bottle brought back from Prague. Amber colour with thin white head. Some toasted malt, bit of toffee aroma. Very clean and crisp in mouth. Hoppy bite on the end. Some good flavours of toffee and hop, but doesn’t really offer much else.

Damn, if Staropramen is Interbrew, why can’t I get it here? I had this at the White Horse, London...fiery amber; firm body, toasty; subtle hint of embers - similar to what you’d find in a wood-oven pizza; gets earthy towards the finish.

Bottled (BB 01/2006)
Amber color, small off-white head. Grassy hoppy aroma with toffee notes. Caramelly sweetish, malty with average hoppy bitterness in the finish. A classic example of vienna style.

Bottled. Golden to copper body with a white head. Malty nose with fruityness, dried fruits, tobacco and tea. Caramel, malt and some fruity hop in the flavor. Smooth, medium body, and a finish with tea, tobacco and some dried fruits. The initial flavor is a bit boring, else it is a nice one. (070404)

Tap at "Carlsens Skvatter", Odense: Golden see through with white head. Little malty & hoppy aroma. Easy sweet taste from malts (caramel) Watery texture. Short light dry bitter finish. Easy drinkable. Defenetly nothing interesting, but OK!
