I thought this one would be different: but, green bottle, skunk inside. Becks, Heineken, Pilsner Urquell, Spaten, St Pauli Girl, etc. I can't do it. PU is much better and that isn't saying much Pink tan hue. A little better as it warms up but not my thing. If not for bitterness it would be a complete loss. I'm pouring it out and reaching for a High Life.

Crystal clear, golden, not much head. Looks like an average dark-ish lager in the glass. Pleasant malt notes in the aroma, vague hints of flowers and hops. Nice flavour, slightly bitter and dry in the aftertaste. Medium body, average carbonation. Enjoyed this, it definitely stand out from the pilsner crowd. In a warm summer night in Prague, at an outdoor restaurant, this would be a very good choice.

On-tap. A - Clear dark golden color with with a slightly below average sized, foamy white head. Decent retention but very little lacing left on the sides of the glass. S - Typical Czech pilsener type of smell with some pale malt and a faint whisper of bready aroma along with a strong grainy aspect. Also faint grassy and floral hops. It’s a little too faint however. T - Similar to the aroma, but a bit stronger. The grain (especially corn) comes out strong and is strong throughout the sip. Some bread and pale malt taste also comes out. The grassy hops come in and out every now and then, but they are a little too faint. M - Light body with a bit above average carbonation. Crisp and bubbly, like many other beers of this and similar styles. D - Again, like others within this style and similar styles, it is quite drinkable, especially on a warm sunny day. Notes: Not a bad summer beer (or as others call them lawn mower beers). Was nice and refreshing after walking around Praha, and went well with the klobása (sausage) I had outside. It is what it is, a decent Czech Pilsener. I won’t ever crave it, but if I’m in the Czech Republic and thirsty, I wouldn’t turn this down, especially if it is warm out.

...bottle. One of the better lagers, I was surprised in this beer. Nice floral aromas, and flavors blend well with the quality water and ingredients. Hop notes are there, smooth finish, overall a good beer that’s worth a try.

Drinkable Czech Pilsner, nothing special, nothing interesting but still quite a correct session beer.

Bready toasty aroma, slightly roasted slight notes of pear and chocolate bit of floral hops. Taste starts malty sweet but soon turns dry and bitter. Nice dry and refreshing

Aroma = slightly skunky, like unto perhaps St. Pauli Girl, although it is a better beer. Other similar beers include Heineken and Pilsener Urquell, but I personally somehow liked this one beer I think. It is overpriced but that’s probably because it’s an import from the Czech Republic. Its taste is lightly malty, maybe a bit smokey, and a little bit bitter. The finish lingers a bit. This is a pretty straight-forward lager but one good at what it does. I was pleasantly surprised, as it proved effective relief from recent, painful malt liquors...yuck.

henry3r (586) - Wichita, Kansas, USA - APR 19, 2005
The bottle poured a light golden sparkling liquid with a small white rocky head that didn’t last very long. The lacing on the glass was minimal. The aroma was primarily of sweet malt with notes of bread and a hint of floral hops. The initial mouthfeel is sharp, dry and crisp. The initial flavor is of malt sweetness balanced nicely with hop bitterness. As the flavor matures on the palate, the bitterness becomes more pronounced and the finish is a bit harsh.
