Gold color, looks like a pilsner, smells like a pilsner so im assuming its going to taste like one. This actually tastes ok (im not a fan of european pilsners) non offensive, easy to drink.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2008 This is a nice Czech lager that is notable for having primarily a stronger, more darkly toasted malt-grain quality than usual. It is dark gold with a smallish, but lasting off-wite head that leaves almost no lace. The aroma is a full-bodied lager smell definitely dominated by very toasty grain, along with grass & herbs with hitns of earth, flowers, and sulphur. The taste is similar, being predominantly a malty, more darkly toasted grain quality along with a tart, dry bitterness that really predominates after the start. There are elements of honey and grass, although the herbal-piney hop flavours are not as strong as I would have expected and it really is dominated by the toasty grain. Even the bitterness, while on the strong side, is more of a dry, toasty bitterness without the usual flavours that I’d expect. In the end, it is full-bodied, tasty, very crisp, and and gets points also for being a bit different.

Pours a clear light golden with one finger head with medium lacing. Starts a toasted malt. Grassy hops. A little skunky. Sweet upfront and quickly turns moderately bitter. Medium finish. Medium to thin bodied, sticky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Typical green-bottled beer.

Poured a nice golden color with afinger of white head. The nose had a definite skunky aroma with a little maltiness beneth. The flavor was smooth and lightly sweet with a slightly biting finish. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent with a lingering hop finish. An acceptable lager it has the virtue of being very crisp, and a little lemony, which in this case was a good thing.

Your slightly better than average Central European pilsner. Crispy, citrus, nitrogen, hops, hay. Yellow pour with a good crisp, effervescant white head.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2005 Pleasant surprise. Nice looking light golden pilsener with a fair, fresh aroma. Good pilsener taste that receded into quite a bitter aftertaste. Not bad, just unexpected. Overall, a really good pilsener that is better than most of the popular ones out there - wonderful on a hot day.

This Pilsener was a nice follow-up to Samuel Smith’s Pure Lager, as it proved to be more tasty. A bit more complex as you can taste the hops and malt in a swirling unity. It smells a bit like hay, with a twinge of skunkiness, and the taste is delightful. Light, yet filling, with a nice, cool feel. Highly recommended.
