COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale gold in colour with delicately flowery aromas and a taste in which hop crispness and malty softness combines to highly drinkable effect.

Barva, pěna, vůně a chuť vytváří unikátní senzorický profil tohoto spodně kvašeného ležáku uvařeného z 2 druhů sladů a 5 druhů chmele, včetně žateckého, který je srdcem tohoto piva. Znalec ocení typickou pivní vůni a chuť, které ve vzájemné harmonii dávají tomuto středně až silně prokvašenému ležáku příjemnou pitelnost, ležákovou plnost s osvěžujícím řízem a obsahem alkoholu 5%. 12 EBC.

My favourite of the Czech pilseners. Staropramen is great on tap and in the bottle. Possibly the maltiest flavour of the large Czech producers. Let hoppy aftertaste, but still prevalent, as is common with Czech Pilseners. Unfortunately, not available in Western Canada, where I am, but worth a shot if you run into it.

If you have never tried this beer, I strongly suggest you go out of your way to do so. It is not the best beer in any category, however, I have never found a more drinkable beer. I can drink this any time of the day, with any meal, and if I am in the mood to drink many beers, this would be my only choice. For what it is, its the best of its kind, and I enjoy it with popcorn. Once again, its the most drinkable beer overall that I know of. light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, excellent but not overpowering finish.

0.5l can. Weak malty aroma. Some sweet strings on tongue in the aftertaste. Very good balance for malt.

Pours a thick, off-white head and a clear, thin lacing and old half-bubbles left behind. Very mild nice aroma, sweets, biscuits, flowers, malts, hops. Colour is quite light, carbonation very moderate. The taste is very wide, with elements of all one can expect from a classic Czech Světlý Pilsner. Hops, malts, grass. Good mouthfeel. Gentle bitterness, but pretty soft. Aftertaste goes deeper into the jungle with bread-baskets. 0,5L can from Systembolaget - at this time it is not at Vinmonopolet, and I wish it was 4,7%, because then it could be recommende to all supermarkets in my poor country.

From the instant I popped the cap off this one, I could smell the hops - in a nice way. Pouring a just-right, rich gold colour, this was paired with an attractive white head which did leav a bit o’lace on departure. Aroma was again, hoppish, but not offensively so. Taste was a wee bit sharp, and enjoyable. Mouthfeel and aftertaste were also highly acceptable.

Green 11.2 oz bottle. Best by 23.09.2010. Pop it open, no skunk, it is a pretty fresh bottle and has been kept out of the sun. It pours a vibrant crystal clear gold with tons of bubbles and a giant white head that recedes leaving some lacing. No skunk in the smell, but a nice dose of herbal hops and subdued but slightly sweet smelling malts. It smells like a Czech pilsener should, it is a prime example. The taste is malty but with a nibble of hops, not like a German pils where there is perfect balance but this is good for a Czech. It is sweet but the hops level it out with some herbal bitterness. It is a shame it is an AB product, but it is one of my favorite Czech pilseners. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-28-2010 02:58:50

This is definitely a great pilsner, not as good as budweiser budvar in my opinion though, it also has a similar mix of bitter and sweet aftertaste, but it’s just a little less bitter and sweet, so the taste is somewhat weaker. Still better than most pilsners for sure.

Pours a archive, golden amber color. The white head stays for the drink. The lacing it leaves on the glass is superb! The aroma is light and just a little hoppy but fresh. The taste starts with a light bitterness giving way to a light maltiness and finishing with a refreshing bite. This beer is too enjoyable on a Texas Spring day!

It was love at first sip. The drinkability of this beer is off the charts. Full of the classic Pilsner grassiness and floral qualities, this pilsner ranks high on the list. It has a fruity, but not sweet and sugary taste, almost of cherries. I highly recommend this beer.
