clear medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (grain/cereal, bread), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Seems to be a variable beer...I've had better samples than this in the not-too-distant past...this one almost smells adjuncty. Sigh.
good beer overall.............

A lame, ordinary pilsener from the Czech Rep. Decent balance but not a pleasant taste. Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 19, 2004
Amber with a thin hazy head. Musky malts, sharp hop notes. An earthiness in the flavor. Nice malt blended with hops. Refreshing. Drinker101 (54) - East Ridge, Tennessee, USA - JUN 12, 2004
Light color, medium color. weak smell. Taste is ok not my favorite. Overall it is a decent beer.

(On tap) Hoppy, slightly floral aroma. Clear, golden coloured with a thin white head. Floral, hoppy and bitter taste. Quite full bodied for a pilsener. Fresh brew. DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 8, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2004 (12 oz bottle) "The Star of Prague" is not all that good a beer, and thus grossly overpriced at well over $8 a six-pack; It's lightly malty and smoky, mildly bitter, but fairly sweet, and not in a good way; The sweetness just has this "cheap, poor quality" character to it, and results in a somewhat cloying palate in the finish; It's mildly bitter, but not very hoppy at all; The floral finish just comes out of the blue and seems out of place; Sweet, lightly smoky and malty nose; Light golden color; White head is somewhat small on the pour and soon fades to a very thin layer; Not one of the better Bohemian pilseners, and not something I'd buy again, but unfortunately, since BevMo has this stupid no single bottles rule, I still have five more Staropramens to drink. Sigh... 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - OCT 10, 2004
Bottle. Pours a slight amber color. Head is white and fleeting. Aroma of Grass, just a little skunky. Malt with spicy hop mix up with the taste. Decent middle of the road pils dirkules (629) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 10, 2004
Artificial flavoured and skunky (blast those green bottles!). This one is a resounding disappointment. Sammy (12838) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 10, 2005
Smooth and creamy. Drinkable, which is above average for pils I’ve had. Beats Urquel. Clean, decent malts. Slight citrus in saaz hops. Good carbonation in finish. Balanced but on sweetish side.
