Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a slim, shmeer of light beige foam.
Smell: Nominal notes, a bit bland, really, barely hinting at roast and toast and failing to deliver any expected pumpkin or spicing.
Taste: Washed out, watery roast in the fore with little in the way of supporting elements like chocolate, caramel or coffee accents. Minimal pumpkin flavor, restrained spice. Very, very low hop flavor, bitterness. Quietly, unashamedly closes out dry with the same simple roastiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Disappointing. Falls short at being a porter and at being a pumpkin-anything, leaving you with an essentially characterless beer that leaves you scratching your head wondering as to whether or not this was the intended final beer.
Pours a deep dark brown with a thin ran head. Not much of an aroma. Taste is bitter. Nice roast to it. Similar to a stout. A hint of spice. A little watery. EyeAmBaldman (461) - Illinois, USA - SEP 29, 2014
Pours a translucent dark mahogany with a thin khaki head. Aroma is spicy with pumpkin and nutmeg. Mild carbonation in the mouth. Has a nice pumpkin and spice taste. This is real good. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 26, 2014
12oz bottle, free, birthday party, thanks Kennon. Pours deep red brown with medium, thick beige head. Good lace. Nose is metallic, doggy, underneath is excellent allspice and nutmeg medley, melted chocolate truffle. Taste is lighter, slightly metallic, quite earthy, soil, quite bitter. No sugar, low spice, not too dusty. Thinner. bigrond (1499) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2014
This is a weak pumpkin beer. There really isn’t much positive to say about this one. Very average

OK, I really want to like this beer. Its from Virginia, it looks great, it pours great, but it just isn’t as delicious as the aroma and appearance indicate. While the front end of the taste is pleasant with decent balance between roasted malt, spices, a hint of pumpkin, and hop flavors, this quickly fades and falls into a flat mid-palate and a mediocre or unpleasant aftertaste. I remember this beer being better a few years back. Has some good flavors but has a finish that reminds me of mass produced craft beer (I call it the saranac taste) PorterPounder (7961) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 30, 2014
Atlanta, Ga. - Hop City - 12 oz bottl. Dark copper pour, light off-white head. Strong spicy aroma with clove and allspice. Spicy flavor with some pumpkin spice, cloves and some ripening vegetable notes cloves. Thick enough mouthfeel. Decent. Aurelius (5332) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 29, 2014
Big fluffy tan head on a cola brown beer. Bad label. Standard 12 oz longneck. Allspice aroma over dark malt. Dry, tangy, coffee, spicy. Slightly roasted, some meaty notes. Loses carbonation. Didn’t love this one. Thanks to PorterPounder. shadey (2135) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 28, 2014
12oz bottle. Pours a deep red, almost black. No head. Aroma is spicy and chocolatey. Flavors are rich and complex. A little too much tang to the finish that detracts.
