Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body has a deep copper like amber color with good clarity. It’s head is small, white In color and fades slowly as I drink. Smell: There are some nice pumpkin pie spices coming through with a deep maltiness backing it up. Taste/Palate: I get really nice light coffee notes and a good malty base. It also has a nice balance of pumpkin pie spice. The palate has a firm feel with good carbonation. For me this is one of the more drinkable pumpkin beers. Everything is in very good balance.

Comes out of the growler opaque chocolate brown with a thick and frothy tan head. Roast malt aroma has notes of cinnamon, pumpkin, and caramel. Flavor has pleasing malt, pumpkin, spice, and subtle caramel notes - a joy to drink! Texture is firm and smooth, if not too fizzy. Box one up - and leave the car at home, please.

Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Smells a little of chocolate and a very subtle pumpkin. Taste is a touch of chocolate, a hint of pumpkin, and a very subtle spice note. Medium-bodied with a smooth, wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Starr Hill Boxcarr Pumpkin Porter finishes with a faint kiss of pumpkin.

Pours a translucent dark mahogany with a thin khaki head. Aroma is spicy with pumpkin and nutmeg. Mild carbonation in the mouth. Has a nice pumpkin and spice taste. This is real good.

Classic pumpkin pie aroma, clove in the forefront, lesser notes of cinnamon and allspice. Mahogany, medium tan head. Tart and chalky. Fairly nondescript flavor of charcoal and perhaps a bit of pumpkin. The pumpkin spice appears well afterward, in only minute amounts. innovative and nicely done. The spice appears to be added only to give it a neat nuance. This beer is porter first and pumpkin ale last. too tart, but a good beer.

this is a very nice porter infused gently with Pumpkin and Pumpkin spice. There is a charming chocolate mint type component in the finish that is again gentle and totally charming. the brew is dark black and the body is moderate. demonstrative with a light vegetable profile.

I found this to be a very good porter with more pumpkin than spice to the taste.

From a bottle. Pours opaque brown with a light foamy head. Tastes rich and full of pumpkin. Nice and light on the spices. Smells like vegetables. Medium body and low / medium carbonation.

Cask at Rustico. Pours dark brown to black with a medium, bubbly tan head, medium-long retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, roast, nutty, chocolate), no hops, pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Flavor is malt dominant with pumpkin pie spices and no bitterness. Medium body, low warmth and carbonation with a dry finish.

Great aroma; excellent blend of roasty porter malt and pumpkin pie spices. Very dark brown, creamy looking, though little head fades quickly. Flavor is a sweet rendition of porter with a nice touch of pumpkin and spice in the background. Could use some balance. Good mouthfeel, though a touch watery for the style. Overall, a nice experience - my first time trying this style, and I’ll seek out others that might be more full bodied and balanced.
