Cola brown pour with aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. Sweet milk chocolate flavor with hints of dark fruit, caramel, and roasted malt. Very tasty.

12 oz. bottled 12/21/2016. Ebony brew has an enduring film of grainy bubbles. Aroma is cocoa, fig, molasses and a hint of clove. Tastes of semi-sweet chocolate, bitterish dry cocoa, fig and a bit of sour cream. Finish has some spearmint and sweet/sour cherries. Maybe a bit of cured tobacco as well. There’s quite a bit of complexity not typically seen in a Sweet Stout, but something about the combination of flavors sits a little obtusely on my tastebuds and won’t allow me to kick it up into greatness rating territory. Medium bodied with a nice balance and mostly smooth medium fizz.

12oz bottle. Small brown head atop cola black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, some coffee, light earthy/roast. Taste is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, some coffee, faint roast/earthy. Medium body, some stickiness, low carbonation.

Big choco vanilla taste here like napolitan after your sister ate the pink stuff. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Creamy consistency. Some roast, caramel. Bittersweet finish.

Jow (4082) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2017
Bottle from solidfunk. Dark brown pour. Nose is light chocolate and roasted malt. Tastes of roasted malt, not as much chocolate as I was expecting, earthy, cola, light red fruits. Light carbonation. Not overly sweet.

Bottle, Kroger. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, wet dog, raisin. Flavor is smooth creamy chocolate, hazelnut?, minor dark fruit - perhaps cherry, kinda cakey. Good.

On tap at Holly’s Deli & Pub. Aromas of caramel, toffee, chocolate cake. Brown-black with a mostly lasting tan head. Sweet, a little boozy, some whiskey, slight cherry. Medium-full bodied, smooth.

katrinaez (2234) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 25, 2016
Nice aroma of malts and chocolate liquors. Pours a dark black with minimal head. Thick mouthfeel with a sting of malts on the back of your throat. Chocolate taste is present without being overwhelming. Very well done. Tap.

hman43 (1769) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - APR 12, 2016
It pours dark brown. It has strong chocolate aromas with roasted malts and low levels of dark fruits. The tastes are malt forward with the chocolate and the roasted elements dominating.

3.8
NikkTwist (3341) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2016
Draft at Moriartys. Opaque black pour with just a slim off-white ring. No lasting lace. Burnt roasty nose. Dark chocolate liquor. Charred toast. German black liquorice. Warms to some dark fruit notes. Blackberries. Bing cherries. Dried blueberries. Just slightly smoky. Full-bodied. More than worth a shot.
