From the bottle poured a deep gold colored brew with a nice white head. Aromas of grapefruit, hops and malt. Full bodied with a interesting flavor mixture of malt, hops and a hint of honey and grapefruit. A long hop finish.

Bottle. Light copper with thin white dissipating head. Smells sweet and citrusy and grainy. Nice hoppy flavor. Medium bodied with a nice hoppy finish. Nice to enjoy something local.

Clear deep golden pour, thin off white head and light sticky lacing ... aroma is very light and of grapefruity resiny hops .... taste is of grapefruity hops, subtle caramel malts, bitter and rindy .... has a nice bitter dry rindy hop punch in the finish as well .... abv hidden well ... more like a solid above average ipa than a dbl ipa .... lack of aroma hurts this brew

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2012 Drank from a tulip. Floral and hoppy with a decent malt backbone. Chewy mouthfeel. Nice

On draft at Westover Beer Garden in Arlington, VA. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Fruity aroma. Orange peel notes in the flavor. Quite a lovely beer.

On tap in a small glass. Pours amber with a lacy head. Aroma of citrusy hops and some caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent double IPA.

Copper color, slight dissipating head..not much going on with the nose..quite a bit notice of sweet malt..mouthfeel and palate are noticeably thin..Really find this hard to believe this is 8.5...

thechandler (593) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Pours a clear orange-copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is balanced between sweet and floral. Flavor is a bit more bitter than sweet. Decently balanced, but not a ton of good floral flavor. Malt and hops in large amount though. Not bad.

12 ounce thanks to beerandfishin. Amber like beer. Some tropical fruit. Malty with some pineapple. Not getting a huge Double IPA experience like some have claimed. Maybe older bottle?

SpringsLicker (3641) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Pour is murky gold with a sticky mostly white head. Pineapple and citrus hop aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter all the way to the finish. Needs a little malt to balance and to get this away from the hop juice category.
