Pours a clear amber with a reddish orange color. The head retention is rather nice with some lacing. The aroma is of citrus hop tones with minor pine and mild to moderate booze. In tasting I noticed how sweet this beverage was. It has a descent malt flavor but the malts were a tad overpowered by the sweetness and the mild bitterness of this beverage. The finish was rather enjoyable with a sweet malty flavor reappearing and a lingering bitterness. Overall I enjoyed this more than I thought, it was a spontaneous choice. jw0406 (1302) - atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 2, 2014
12 oz bottle pours an orange color with a nice white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, lots of citrus. Full bodied, nicely balance with the malt, a nice beer. mnmike (1086) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 28, 2014
I really like this dipa, my first VA beer. Drank it while watching the Virgina Mich. St. NCAA tourny game. Good Simcoe flavor plowing through this great beer. FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-caramel color with a lots of little floaters and a medium sized foamy-creamy orange-white head. The aroma was sour and tangy pine and vague fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and tangy pine, grapefruit, lemon, caramel and a bit of cracker. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok. lamas (1651) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle. Packaged on: 01/06/14. Mine says 8.6% ABV. A clear ruby/amber pour with a smallish antique white head. The pungent aroma features lots of resiny pine, grapefruits, oranges, zesty citrus rinds, rye, and some caramel. Relatively medium-bodied on the way down. The taste starts with some caramel and sweet cereal grains. Tangy oranges, bitter grapefruits, and zesty citrus rinds finish things off. A lingering dryness at the end. A little rye here and there. Some warming alcohol is noticeable throughout. Tasty stuff.

)n tap at the 2014 Secret Stash Bash (Atlanta).
Pours deep and dark amber. Modest but durable head.
Aroma: Interesting aroma is hoppy, as expected, but has an unusual character that is floral and herbal but otherwise rather hard to describe.
Flavor is more earthy, with mild to moderate bitterness.
Medium body and carbonation.
O: for hop heads. Cybercat (6015) - Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy chestnut with a light tan head. Aroma is quite hoppy with a strong grapefruit note. Flavor is epically hoppy and has a nice sour citrus underpinning. Texture is firm and fizzy, and leaves a seriously hoppy and citrus finish. Double platinum indeed! panicorgy (1) - - FEB 11, 2014 does not count
I'm used to the northwest version of a double IPA (read very hop forward) so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this beer had a really malty profile. jrob21 (3773) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 27, 2014
Bottle from the beer run mix six over christmas. Pours a nice ruby red color with a white head and big lacing. Good caramel sweetness working throughout. Enough piney sticky hops still left here to be entertaining. Aroma is lots of pine and a slight citrus tinge. Solid double IPA. Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - JAN 26, 2014
2oz sample at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Pours an amber color with a small foamy white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and mild spice. Taste is similar. Old citrus, caramel malt, and faint spice.
