Finally a decently good beer that I've tasted from Starr Hill. I was very reluctant to try this beer because of the fact that I have been disappointed with just about every Starr Hill beer I've tasted in the past. But this double IPA was a good one. It poured a golden color from a 12oz bottle with small off-white head. There wasn't much lacing left in the glass, though. The flavors were clean, spicy and filled with floral hops. The amount of caramel and bready malts almost ruined this beer, but they didn't cross the line to unbalance the beer.

For an IPA it’s meh. I have had better but it’s ok. I given the choice I would choose a different beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Lightly hazy, copper-orange with a 2-finger off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of pine, caramel malt and citrus. Taste of floral hops, caramel, spruce, butterscotch, and citrus. Very bitter, but balanced by tons of caramel malt. Medium/full body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Harris Teeter in Asheville, NC. Aroma is pine, herbal lozenges, spruce. Taste is spicy pine with some sweetness. Overall very herbal and piney.

This beer wants to be a 90 minute clone but it doesn’t quite get there. The aroma is a little too weak and the malt not quite strong enough to balance the hop bite. Still, quite enjoyable.

Not smooth or malty at all for an imperial. Bitter finish. March madness 2017

Some citrus and pine. Lots of booze and caramel like Easter at the bar. Orange pour with ok head and lacing. Herbal bitter finish with touch of sugar. Bottle.
