COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and malty, Festie is now available year-round, and it is our tribute to the great German lager. Its name invokes the German tradition of Oktoberfest, while also paying homage to the end of the summer music festival season.

Outstanding beer that is an all around good marzen style beer. It wasn’t quite as malty or sweet enough for me but had a clean clear appearance and smooth palate.

They call it an Octoberfest but something went wrong. This is a below average beer. it pours a hazy deep yellow w/not much head and it does not bother to stick around. Getting a sugary/candy sweetness on the nose along with what I think is citrus and fruits. Thin body with a sweet finish. Taste is like the aroma. sweetness w/ very well hidden bitterness. No where near an Octoberfest. I’m glad I only bought one and I don’t even think I’ll bother finishing this one.

Barley malt aroma, very shitty. Hazy amber, medium head. Light body. Flavor is copper with only hints of barley malt. Immensely metallic. The most metallic beer I’ve ever had. Suck on a penny and you get the idea.

This was tasted at the brewery in Crozet, after a trip to JMU. We had great service and were able to taste the beers on draft. The small sample was delicious. I purchased a growler for the Thursday night opening NFL game. The festie is an Octoberfest beer. It was very inviting with a white frothy head and deep copper color. The beer was thin and needs more body and for my taste more hops. I do recommend visiting the Starr Hill brewery.
