A golden color with a white head. The aroma contains some citrus, caramel, and earthy notes. The flavor contains some oranges. biscuit notes, and caramel. Some slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall a decent pale ale.

2 month old bottle > chalice A: Poured hazy pale gold with a small head that fell quickly to film and ring. A few lonely bubbles and sparse lace. S: A little each of orange and caramel. Light overall with maybe a hint of toast. T: Piney bitterness with some pith joining in. Toasty and citrusy at the end. Simple and light but OK. M: Soft carbonation and a light thin body. No resin. O: Fairly average overall but certainly not bad. I like the low ABV but not enough to buy regularly.

Bottle. Musty orange color, fairly opaque, with a head that settles into a ring on the glass. This does have a fairly distinctive aroma of fresh hops. It goes on to drink with a lively attitude, well balanced between a sturdy foundation and a pointed hop addition. Good. (#6435, 11/28/2016)

Draft. Aroma of chocolate. Flavors of honeydew and milk chocolate with something higher register I can’t quite place. (Maybe raisin?) A hint of dankness too. Finishes pretty dry. Lot going on in a beer just a couple ticks north of a SIPA.

Ernest (7822) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 17, 2016
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. About as stark and simple as a pale ale can get. Very little aroma, basically just grapefruit rind hops and little else. Quite thin and watery in the mouth, and the flavor balance is ok but veering towards bland. Depressingly dull.

Bottle - Crisp flavor with a nice balance of hops and sweetness. Fruit flavors on the palate, tastes like mango to me.

Bottle, hazy gold Whitehead visible carbonation. Some sweetness in the nose. Resinous hops mild profile flavor overall somewhat crisp little muddled on the Finish
