(ODBF04) Beige head atop clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, light herbal. Taste is mild sweet, caramel, cereal, mild earthy. Light-medium body. EKGoldings (664) - Radford, Virginia, USA - MAR 29, 2008
Had this on tap at my local. Not much going on here, light flavor, not much malt, not much hops, didn’t taste fully lagered. The backbone was sweeter than it should be given the paucity of flavors - honestly I prefer Negra Modelo for a Vienna. TheBeerGod (6209) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - MAR 4, 2010
Bottle. Soft amber with a tall, fizzy white head. Aroma is toasted malts, grassy hops, straw, and grains. Taste is toasted malt, light lemon, yeast notes, grassy hops, straw and biscuit. Body is light-medium with a moderate, fizzy carbonation. Ends with more toasted malt, sweet malt, hint of caramel, grassy hops, and straw. Not too bad. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2010
This beer is a little too sweet for my palate, not as much as the Love but almost. I feel their beers go heavy on the candied malt and have not alot of depth. Blah. xs2500 (187) - Mississippi, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Pours golden amber color with think white head. No real high notes here. Fairly carbonated and stale hops are the main points here. Not terrible, but just another run of the mill brew

12oz twist-off bottle. Light orange-amber color. Thin white head. Hint of cardboard in the nose. Finishes with a bit of fruit, sharp bitterness. Lots of crispness. Flavor of toast, sweet malt, and woody tannins. A good summer Lager. DiarmaidBHK (4797) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2012
Bottle from giant sterling. Pours orange with a half an inch of white foam. A bit citrusy on the nose. Pretty smooth on the tongue with a slight hint of malt sweetness on the finish. It’s not lager but it could be worse. Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2012
Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and some floral hops. Taste is also malty with hints of caramel leading to a light hoppy finish. OK. Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - AUG 11, 2008
THOUGHTS: Nice beer, but lagers aren’t really one of my favorite styles. Even though I never heard of Starr Hill before visiting the brewery and buying five of their beers, they continue to impress me. This isn’t bad just nothing special. It did go down easy though.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light amber with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light caramel malt and moderate to heavy flower and grass hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately acidic; while the finish was lightly sweet, light to moderately acidic and bitter, and sour with an average to short duration. There was a little caramel malt then lots of grassy hops and then finished sour. The light to medium body was sort of creamy with tingly carbonation and a slightly metallic finish. Golden color with a small white head that goes away. Slightly fruity at the start before becoming very watery throughout. Highly fizzy. Almost seltzer water quality in there. bleh.
