On tap at Frank Beamer’s American Grill, Hampton VA. Nice amber pour, moderate head. Overall a baseline quality IPA, good but not great.

12oz bottle from Hops & Vine. Pours hazy orange with small white head. Aromas of caramel sweet malts, hops, and some citrus mixed in. Flavors medium bitter hops, some citrus, and good amount of caramel sweet malt. Has decent balance and hop bitterness but flavor profile as a whole seems a tad off. Not bad, but not for my favorite IPA.

Starr Hill Norther Lights is a deep golden color with a medium bitterness. Although for an India Pale Ale I’d expect a little bit more. A nice refreshing brew but there are better India Pale Ale’s out there.

I thought this would a nice ordinary IPA, I was wrong. strong nice malt flavor with a great hop flavor but no astringent flavor. great beer

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - JUL 14, 2010
On tap at Clyde’s in Columbia, MD. Poured a golden copper color with a medium white head that reduced to a thin cap. Light citrus aroma with some caramel and a bit of mustiness. A bitter hop bite right away with little flavor, and mostly just bitterness, that fades to a mild sweetness. The bitterness lingers on the back of the throat for awhile. Thin body with decent carbonation.

12 oz. bottle. Clear amber color with a moderate amount of lacing from the head that sticks to the side. Plenty of citrusy and floral hops in the aroma as well as some caramel malt. Some grassy hops in the taste and little bit of the malt that peaks through. Finishes dry with an assertive bitterness that lingers a bit. Slick full mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. A very drinkable IPA.

Has a nice pretty color of darkish brown with light orange hazy hue to it. The foam gathered around the rim and quickly disappeared. The flavors and aromas has notes of floral hops, citrus, malts, yeast and herbs. Really enjoyable.

12oz twist-off bottle. Amber color, off-white head. Nice color. Nice nose. Aromas of fruit, citrus, CascadeHops, Munich malts, a touch of wheat. Flavor is not like the smell. Sweet caramel malt, bold sharp hop bitterness. Very well made American IPA. I will look for this one again.

SanfordBrewer (1572) - Sanford, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2010
slightly hazy copper, lasting white head, medium-full body, crisp medium co2.

aroma: lots of bright floral pine hops, bready caramel malts, nicely balanced.

T1= sweet bready malt, slight citrus.
T2= very floral piney fresh hops, vegetal mineraly hop bitterness, hint of saltyness, very slight charcoal note.
T3= resinous hop bitterness.

malt character is nice in the aroma, but gets quickly overwhelmed on the palate. decent americanized ipa, but a bit too hop resinous for me. needs more malt sweetness or oak aging to become a nicely balanced traditional ipa.

Ratman197 (14664) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2010
Bottle poured a hazy golden amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthines and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscut, earthiness and light citrus with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
