Bottle from Beer and Wine. Bold red brown body with thin, tan head. Nose is malty, spicy with toasty notes. Taste is caramel, malts, brown sugar, plums. Alcy and roasty taste. Smooth in the finish. Pretty good.

scotchzombie (612) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAR 1, 2016
Pours dark brown and ruby red in the light. Small off white head that quickly dissapates leaving the tiniest of rims. Aroma is rich roasted malts with toffee, brown sugar, maybe raisin. Taste largely follows - very clean bready malts + caramel/toffee with a roasted slightly bitter finish. Not boozy. I like dbocks; this one is decent.

I guess I get the ratings I’m seeing if you call this a lager. I’d call it a Belgian-lager cross and very good. Not strictly a lager but I’d sure order it again. Good flavor and body - my fave out of a flight of 4 that included 2 porters.
