Poured from a bottle. No head or lacing. Kind of skunky aroma, but the taste wasn’t awful. Coffee hints. JDBaker11058 (2336) - Maryland, USA - FEB 6, 2016
appearance: clear medium amber, short soapy light tan head. aroma: raisin and brown sugar most prominent, with some general bready malts. taste: as the aroma indicates; brown sugar is strongest flavor. finish: lasting sweetness, but the body isn’t overly thick. notes: On the lighter side in the style, from the appearance to the sweetness, which is relatively restrained. It’ll never compare to the mainstays in the style (Ayinger Celebrator et al) but it was just fine. Draft at Barrel and Bushel in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

A nice malty doppel without being overpowering. A little better on draft when I can get it. Darwenus (1159) - Virginia, USA - JAN 6, 2016
Doppelbock is not my favorite beer style, and this beer doesn’t change that. It pours a cherry-brown color with little head. The aroma is sweet, candied fruit, cinnamon. The flavor isn’t bad. It has a quality that reminds me of Dr. Pepper, which isn’t unusual for doppelbock, but with that slight sulpher aftertaste I also associate with the style. jmm635 (1015) - Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 4, 2016
Coca cola color with a beige head that fades quickly. Muted aroma of caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet with very little bitterness. Palate is silky but finishes pretty quick.

Bottle. At Blaws. Pours a clear, dark copper color with diminishing head. Carmel malt with toffee biscuit. Light sweetness. Creamy texture. Low carbonation. Pretty good stuff. Malty sweet goodness

Pour is a dark ruby brown with no head. Aroma is low but clean malt. Taste is a bitter malt wash. Finish is clean. Luvystypotables (2039) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - DEC 18, 2015
A sweet malt aroma pours a hazy light brown color not much head. A balanced slightly sweet malt taste, medium body with a roasted malt finish. joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2015
Bottle to shaker glass, pour clear deep amber red, one finger, quick off light tan head. No lacing, no retention. Aroma toffee and burnt malt. Taste is very sweet, no much bitterness to speak of. Medium body, under carbonated, sticky mouth feel. Finishes bittersweet. Tasting notes of prune, caramel, burnt sugar, alcohol not well hidden even at just 7.2%. Average at best. unclemike (3170) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Dark brown color topped by a small creamy tan head. Light roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor has a noticeable burnt caramel character. Obvious notes of dark fruit and earthy minerals. Overall, an average tasting doppelbock with slight complexity
