Bottle. Clear deep amber brown color, tan head. Aroma of earthy, nutty toffee. Taste is earthy burnt toast, brown bread. Tasty. jgb9348 (6399) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Deep dark brown coloured body with a hazy glow of mud. Aroma of honey, toasted malt, prunes, figs and a lot of earth, coupled with caramel. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with a lot of deep pit fruit flavours and a super strong and noticeable honey flavour (no surprise). A lot of malt, yeast and figs noticeable as well - very nicely layered throughout. Aftertaste shows a good sweetness, but the malt and yeast flavours are strong and well balanced. Overall, a very nice dubbel with a great honey flavour with some subdued fig and earthy notes. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-March-2014 for US$7,99 sampled while visiting Raleigh, North Carolina on 01-August-2014. Aroma of honey, and dubbel effervescence. Tastes like a dubbel with addition of honey sweetness. Goes down way too easy for a 8.5pct abv beer. Really good and really easy drinking. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Bottle shared by Taylor. Aroma is malt and coffee cake. Pours light brown with a big white fizzy head. Taste is pleasant with cider donut, dark fruit, and slight honey. Pleasant sweet malty mouthfeel without being sticky and overwhelming. Reminds me of the Barbar. JDBaker11058 (2310) - Maryland, USA - MAY 8, 2014
Appearance: very cloudy medium brown, with a short-lived tan head. Aroma: brown sugar, spicy yeast, floral honey, molasses, toffee, raisin, sweet vinous undertone. Taste: smoothly sweet, with raisin, brown sugar, molasses, candi sugar, honeyed graham crackers, clove, and a hint of booze. Finish: sweet, lingering honey and yeasty notes. Notes: Pretty darn good, actually. A nice sipper for an evening of poker. The honey blends seamlessly into the traditional belgian dubbel style. Well done.

Bottle. Dark copper with a medium, foamy tan head. Strong yeast and spice notes atop dark fruit and candi sugar. Toasted malt, candi sugar, ripened dark fruits, yeast and caramel round out the flavor profile. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more candi sugar, dark fruit, toasted malt, sweet malt, caramel, yeast and softer spice notes. Yummy! Beerathon (1683) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Sweet taste of honey, plus the typical Abbey Dubbel flavors are there. Seems a bit under carbonated, but other than that decent. OldGrowth (3474) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Sniffer at Raleigh Times. Good aroma sweet. Malty. Caramel bready. Mild yeasty. Tad jazzed brownish Orange. O.k. head. Minor lace. Sweet flavor. Thick body. Creamy slick mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Nice interesting addition with the honey. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Bomber. Hazy brown pour with faint ring of clearish white head. Very pleasant notes of bread of plum and candi sugar. Dark stone fruits and hints of rum. Caramel sweetness on the finish. This is actually pretty nicely done for the style imho. Very pleasantly surprised with this one.
