12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy light amber color, with a one inch white head. Smell is a light, fruity, malt sweetness with some light yeast. The taste has the same prominent fruity malt sweetness up front, with a bit of hop bitterness through the finish. Body is light and crisp, with a moderate amount of carbonation.

12oz bottle from Fischer Blvd. Poured a chill hazed nectar orange body with some gently rising effervescence and a small foamy bright white head. Aroma is bad. A cross between spoiled raisin bread dough, paste and green grapes. Medium bodied with average to stronger carbonation and an almost nonexistant aftertaste. Flavor of lightly roasted cereal grains, nut shells and earth, basically nothing like the aroma. This sucks but it could be because despite Starr Hill only being in NJ a few months the bottle is 6 1/2 months old Way to represent Starr Hill by sending old product to a new market.

THOUGHTS: Not much of a lager fan, but this was finely crafted and wonderful tasting. Not very Christmasy or wintery. Dont let it get too warm or it becomes a little unpleasant. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light golden orange with an average, ever so slightly off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma had light to moderate light-colored bread, cookie and grain; light toasted malt; light floral and grassy hops; and honey. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and slightly acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly bitter and ever so slightly sour. There was honey, sugar, cake, cookie, light bread and grassy hops. The light to medium body was a little watery with fizzy carbonation and a metallic finish.

Poured from bottle. Old sample. Aroma of molasses, malt, hops. Nice lookin amber with thin white head. I can see very active carbonation. I taste burnt caramel, molasses, bourbon, hint of citrus. Funny aftertaste, which I will attribute to age. Pretty drinkable and a little different.

12oz bottle, thanks to Andrew. Bottled 11/26/12. Mostly clear orange color. Minimal bubbly white head. Not great retention or lace. Medium-lighter body. Lighter carbonation, kind of crisp. Bready malt, light fruitiness, light hint of citrus.. All very faint and brief, though. Overall, this is kind of boring and uninspiring. Light bitterness, some sweet. Not terrible, but not really good.

Bottle. Pours a orange clear with white head that thins out pretty quickly. Smell is crisp maltiness, a bit fruitiness, a bit of a copper tinge. Taste is big caramel, some more light fruitiness. Medium mouth with light carbonation. Sampled from the winter pack about 6 months after it came out I think. Could affect the score, but I wouldnt know.

Bottled December 17, 2012.
Appearance: The body is slightly hazy with a straw to orange colored body. The head is thin and creamy with average retention. The head settles to a creamy ring and light coating.
Aroma: The aroma is very light, some malts and an even lighter fruity aroma.
Taste: Some malts and some noble hop presence with a lingering touch of lemon.
Palate: Medium body with lots of carbonation.
Overall: This is a bland beer, nothing about it entices me to consider buying one again.

Im not a bock person anyway but I was looking for a more crisp and noble, this is more like an ale.. A little caramel and straw with noble hop aroma, maybe too sweet with a honey like flavor over spicy wheat, overwhelmed by cider sharpness finishing crisp and cider.
