A refreshing and enjoyable beer. Has light hop and malt aromas and a taste to match. Well balanced but generally lacking fullness for this style of beer.

Pours amber with a fading head. Nose shows sweet malt with hay notes alongside floral hops with a soft fruity hint. Very similar flavours, some light malt character with more floral and spicy hops. Feels a bit lacking beyond the initial burst. Body feels a little watery.

The beer is very watery, and it hasn’t got much flavour. Attempts to sell itself as a craft beer, but fails on pretty much all levels. Certainly not planning to go back for this one.

Bottle from Liqorland. Clear pale amber, citrus, grass, some sweet malt. Not bad, but not great.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2013 I must say that the experience overall was good, given the fact that I had this beer available from the Air New Zealand lounge in Sydney. It should be made clear that the Sydney Airport overall offers the traveller an ocean of mediocrity, with a broad range of crap beers. So finding this beer among James Boags Draught and Pure Blonde was paradise. Its fruitiness - grapes, passion fruit and grapefruit - and mild bitterness were more than welcoming.

ALLOVATE (3014) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 10, 2013
Chilled and into a tulip. Low carbonation results in a headless, thinly looking, sparkling orange beer. Aroma has hints of lime, grapefruit, metal shards, sweaty sock and cardboard. Buttery and soapy in the mouth. Ill-defined hops add a citric sourness to it; the bitterness soft and vacant. No length with a slickness that is off-putting. Watery otherwise. This one has nothing going for it. I’d savour a Golden Ale over this. Not good!! (33cL, BB 23/03/14, Liquorland Merriwa)

This beer is brewed exclusively for coles retail sales, although - good luck trying to find any info about who ’steamrail’ brewers really are. It’s such a boring beer I almost fell asleep drinking it. It’s a plain, boring, and clearly a cash driven brew. Not going back to this one.

15-May-13, Bottle from Vintage Cellars - Sweet citrus orange hop aroma. Cloudy light amber colour, poor head and small suds lacing. Light sweet simple malt and light herbal grass hop flavour. Simple sweet malt finish and crisp citrus herbal aftertaste.
