Hard to believe that this is an American Strong Ale. Pours a straw yellow with a tall white head. Aroma of spice, Belgian yeast and lemon. Flavor is sweet-citrus (lemon) with spice and yeast. Abrupt flavor with an almost absent ending. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 20, 2009
750ml Bottle (8.5%ABV): Aroma of Belgian yeast, coriander, lemon, spices, slight pale malts, and slight citric hops. Smells like a saison. Poured yellow/gold/slight amber in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of light pale malts, yeast, spices, coriander, pepper, slight citrus, and slight hops. Light to medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Yeast, pepper, spice, and pale malt finish is slightly dry. 8.5%ABV is totally hidden. Headbanger (3992) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - SEP 23, 2009
22oz bottle 9/23/09 best buy 1/09 (Coaltrain-Colorado Springs)-My ABV on bottle says 7.7%. Pours a hazy golden with a huge white head. Aroma of spices, pepper, and slight fruit. Taste of citrus, pepper, and some dryness. This medium bodied brew is lacking in taste. It has potential but just missing. yemenmocha (659) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - APR 23, 2009
Pours almost like a hefe-weizen: hazy pale golden color with contrasting white head. Nose is herbal & grassy with a suggestion of peach rind. On the palate this one is razor sharp, but pleasing with tangy/tart herbal hop flavors with a background of malt. Finishes dry. Beaver (1791) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 25, 2009
22 oz bottle, best by Jan 2009. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet vegetal and cereal malts with some metallic alcohol.
The flavor is sweet sugary and bready malts and a little fruit with some plasticy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I didn’t care for this at all. Too many off notes and overly sweet and vegetal. It is drinkable though. As I go through the bottle it mellows out some.
Golden color with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma and taste of floral hops with light spice. That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Crushed with Jakebra. Kinda sweet nose is pretty nice. Flavor is sour and poopy and nothing like the nose. Not sure why this is called Diablo. It should be, like, Robin Ale or something. You know, like a lame superhero instead of a awesome one. RSRIZZO (1986) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 20, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2009 Aroma is a spicy malt scent. Color is yellow with a touch of gold and a slight haze. Carbonation is low with a very thin head. Taste is light and creamy. Starting with a light/medium body that goes down smooth and creamy. Finish comes in thick and bland with a malt flavor that has tones of vanilla and a faint fruit like taste. Its OK, but the flavor comes across a bit bland leaving it less refreshing then it could be. JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - OCT 29, 2008
Dark golden color with a moderate light cream colored head. Borderline on the appearance. The last few cm. of foam are quite stable, so mid-mark seems ok. Aromas of grains, Light citrus/sharp flowers, bit of caramel and touch of alcohol. Smells quite eastern bloc and industrial. I like the fell, quite soft and lightly silky. Really no doubt from the start that this is a strong brew. Light pale malt start, but a rather quick change of pace, with over-ripe light fruit and alcohol. Alcohol float of the tongue quickly and start to warm the stomach. I don’t find much deceptive in this one. A strong, overly strong blond ale. Some floral hops noted in the finish. Some light pepper, and grains again found in the linger. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 26, 2008
Bomber, and a reasonable label for ’neighborhood take candy from strangers day’. Poured clear bright golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma was strong with corn and pale malty notes amplified by boozage.. floral and dry citrus accents.. smelled almost like a decent malt likka. The flavor had cereal, honey, and corn sweetness at the core that became cloying at times.. light grassy/hay-like bitterness surrounded.. the combination of alcohol, candy-like adjuncts, and bland bitterness made this really hard to finish. Medium-plus bodied and again strong on the palate.. can’t find anything good to say about it.
