Fantastic creamy head. Looks like a real pint and doesn’t fail to deliver. Rich deep stout/porter favours which improve as it warms up. Worth planning ahead buying 2 and then drinking warmer one subsequently LarryBeast (616) - - APR 20, 2012
Pleasantly surprised! From the tap into an imperial pint glass it was thick, luscious and held a layer of light brown foamy head much the way you’d expect a Guinness to do. Light aroma; good coffee, nut, mild chocolate flavour. Crisp finish. Better than advertised. sseb69 (1909) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 8, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2014 En fût à la Brasserie Steamworks à Vancouver. Couleur brune-noire, mousse beige. Arôme de café et un peu de cacao. En bouche, chocolat, malt. Finale malt cacao. Bonne. asheft (3083) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2011
[on tap at brewpub]
Toasty malt aroma with some cream and nuts. Clear, dark brown under a lasting beige, lacy cover. Smooth and very toasty malt flavour that is relatively complex with some nuts and a little roastiness. Low carbonation, light to medium body, creamy feel, sweet and clean finish. mnurda (1285) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 19, 2010
On tap at steamworks in Vancouver Bit thin on the flavour. Was expecting more bite from this one.

On tap at the brewery. Bomb name. Pours coffee in color with an amber tint and a creamy mocha head. Thin in flavor with notes of charcoal and cream. Fair. Gravelle (104) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 19, 2009
Appearance- that dark rich look you want from a porter. The taste lets you down, too dry. Needs more creaminess. Some coffee flavour, yada yada.

Clear reddish chestnut coloured brew, thick tan head and leaves a messy messy glass. Aromas of chocolate, nuts, roasted malts, a bit more. Tasty stuff! Chocolate, nuts, tons of nuts, so many nuts.. dusty.. no depth but that’s ok. Very light hop taste (orange) but then it sticks around, large tang just hit - the tang and bitterness is a bit too forward. Not quite creamy as it’s a bit watery. Light smoke on the finish. Still a good beer, maybe the best of the selection on tap. can8ianben (1554) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2009
Strong smoky aroma. Really dark color with a thick tan head. Tastes of burnt toast and coffee. Somewhat watery behind that strong malt appearance. Very little in the way of hops. RichardGretton (4770) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2009
Brewery Brewpub, Vancouver. Dark brown/bronze beer with a strong smooth head. The aroma is yeasty and malty, and the flavour is dulled malty and creamy. Overall an average beer.
