Lion's Gate Lager has a light body, a very crisp palate and a soft, hop finish, which is imparted by the exquisitely gentle Czech Saaz hop variety.

Right off the bat, I like that they named it after the local big suspension bridge in Vancouver. A light pale lager with some spicy bitter notes from the hops and a sweet pleasant malt presence. Nothing to write home about, but nothing incredibly terrible either.

[email protected] Brewery Brewpub, Vancouver. Golden beer with a hopped and dry aroma and flavour. Overall a nice dry and hopped lager.

GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAY 18, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear gold color. The head was thin, lasting, and left some lace behind. Smelled of grass and light honey. Light bodied and delicately sweet. Pleasant flavors of fresh cereal grain, honey, buttered bread, and a bit of grass.

Draught at the brewpub
Blond color. The aroma is very light. The mouthfeel is dry, there is a light flavor of crispy and breadish malt, but there is a problem with the bitterness (too long hop infusion?). And at the end there is an impression of hay. Simple and with some flaws.

BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - JUL 16, 2008
pours a pale yellow color, light and almost clear with a small frothy head that fades quickly. Clean, with a very light honey malt background, but this tastes like a typical summertime touristy BMC beer. A decent lager but nothing to write home about.

Sammy (12184) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 24, 2008
Gaztown location. Saaz hops. A little lace. Some perfume aroma. Apple juice and above-average carbonation.

yarry (528) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2007
Sampled on tap at the local brewery. Generic lager appearance, no pros, no cons. Taste is also very generic with some grains, some malts nothing unexpected. Palate is fairly clean.

Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 13, 2006
Clear gold with a white head and sheet lacing. Grassy and husky aromas. Slighty sour notes with some citrus. Flavor is bitter and husky with citrus hops. Medium body with a citrusy, grainy finish.

harrisoni (18572) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2006
On tap at Steamworks, Vancouver. Gold colour with thin white head. Pukey lager malt aroma, stale carboard. Thin in mouth. Faint hop on end. Not awful, but pretty tasteless.

pivo (2685) - GERMANY - APR 11, 2006
Light nose, pale gold color, fluffy white head. Creamy grainy malt base goes by quickly. Buttery in the middle. Tingly hop bitter that spreads across the mouth along with the fizzy carbonation. Not the best lager, but drinkable.
