COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark red in color, medium body with a nice hop balance. Our strongest ale, very clean tasting with complex malt character. A west coast adaptation of a traditional amber ale.

Aroma has a mild faint nuttiness, with a slight twinge of spicy hop, a little sweet malt. A dark burnt orange color with an initially fluffy white head that dies out to a thin collar. A nice nutty flavor is prominent with a little bit of hops. The only thing that throws this off from being a 5 is the somewhat soapy aftertaste, otherwise its very velvety smooth, with a very mild afterbite.

Bomber, bought in Durango. Caramel malt aroma with notes of bready malt and light spicy hops. Pours amber colored with a thin off white head with good retention and excellent lacing. Starts with sweet caramel malt with a bit of bread to go with a slight watery mouthfeel. Finishes dry with light spicy hop bitterness that lingers a bit on the palate. Decent, refreshing red ale but fairly ordinary.

Originally rated on 8/27/08. Lizard head red pours a deep brown- amber hued body, generous carbonation, a mid sized off white cap that left spotty lacing. Its aroma was sweet and a little malty, flavor was similar with hints of caramel. Mouthfeel was a little on the watery side but not bad. It was a fairly well balanced and decent brew.

Amber color, fairly generic... grainy, light malt, faint citrus hops. This beer is my least favorite of the Steamworks I’ve tried and seems like a missed opportunity or one made for the masses that don’t really want craft beer...

This is an attractive, malty ale that is fresh and lager like. I was expecting a bit more hop action. On draft at the brewpub.

On tap at the brew pub it is a reddish amber colt with a slight head. Begets is no distinct aroma or taste. Just a simple beer that does not resonate on the palate.

On draft at the brewpub in Durango CO. Pours a clear bet with an off white head. Light malty nose. Not much in the flavor department.

I usually like reds, but this one is a bit bland and uninteresting to me. Some breadiness, a bit of sweet caramel, almost no hop zing. The color is great. Bought at the brewery with Josh N., Josh W., and Nick on our way back from ASEH in Phoenix.

Deep amber with a tan head. Aroma is malty, light fruits, light floral, toasted malt. Medium, slippery body. Flavor is malty, biscuity, toasted, light fruits. A bit boring. Still, not so bad.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a tan head. Lame malty and slightly woody aroma, light hop tones. Biscuit and malt bill, a light wood and hint of cherry/ caramel. Eh so so.
