COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plenty of British Crystal malt in the grist lends this ale its rich color, its caramel maltiness, and adds the occasional whiff of toffee to the nose. An addition of American and German hops to the kettle at the end of the boil is used to suffuse our Pale Ale with a gently spicy hop finish.

On tap at Steamworks. Clear copper appearance with a thin head which leaves some lacing. Seems more like an IPA, with its distinct hoppy taste. Aftertaste was a little too rough for my liking. Overall an average that I would like to try again for a second opinion.

Fruity aroma, tropical. Hazy gold. Taste is on the sweeter side, but nicely balanced by a slight hoppy bitter touch. Carbonation is low to medium. Overall enjoyable.

500ml can pour. Pours a murky golden brown with a light peripheral white fluffy head. Nose is caramel, toffee, and a bit of orange. A touch of slight orange peel sweetness flavour-wise. A little bit of astringency in the finish. Crisp. Not too bad.

YigSvartka (304) - Manitoba, CANADA - SEP 7, 2016
Cloudy translucent golden appearance with a mid sized beige head containing commendable retention. Olfaction consisting of notes of sourdough bread, caramel, and citrus. Mid bodied for a pale ale. Citrus hops present throughout, particularly during the finish, as well as a malty caramel body. Hops are rather monotonous and could include more fruit and the malt could certainly be more flavourful as well. Not atrocious, nor ideal.

Can from BC Liquor Store on Hastings in Vancouver BC. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is slightly roasty malty/bready with a little fruit/spice. Med body. Flavor is roasty/bready with a hop spice counterpart. Not fruity. Towards dry and decently bitter. Sort of dull, but drinkable.

On tap at the taproom in Burnaby. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is non-intensive with tropical fruits notes. Taste is fresh with tropical fruits hoppiness. Same character aftertaste.

Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, citrus and tart. Taste is sweet light malts, passion fruit, grapefruit, and light sweet malts. Finishes with a nice malt/hop balance. Smooth execution. Not overly complex but enjoyable. Appearance is a clear orange with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.
