The two eleven mark, based on the medieval symbol for steel, appears only on Steel Reserve(R) High Gravity lager. We use nearly twice the ingredients of many normal lagers & brew for over twice as long as many quality beers.

Lets be honest: nobody is drinking Steel Reserve for the taste. These guys find their way into my beer stash every once and a while and, frankly speaking, I am looking for the buzz that accompanies my $1.29 purchase. That being said, and having tried quite a few malt liquors in my time, this really isnt that terrible. It provides a quick buzz and, if drank ice cold (and I mean cold, because if it gets warm it tastes terrible), its actually quite drinkable. It looks half-decent when poured out of the can (but whats the point of that?) and smells like sweet corn. Not overly repulsive but certainly not a treat on the nose. Dont pick this up if you are any kind of beer snob because this is not for you. I like beer: I like all styles, all varieties, and that includes malt liquor. When money is tight or if Im just in the mood for something proven and quick, Ill go for this. Overall I gave this a 14/20 - this reflects its style, not beer in general. It doesnt stack up to some of the better microbrews out there, but then again I dont expect it to. Drink cold and enjoy the ride.

Scents of grass and alcohol. Pours a clear gold with big rocky white head. Lots of lacing. Tastes sweet with a pronounced alcohol flavor, corn starch and sugar. Not pleasant but becomes more drinkable as the alcohol dulls your discretion.

High gravity achieved from cranking up the malt bill. Smells like cornflakes with sugar. Souped up grainy taste. Worth every penny if youre looking to get smashed.

Poured from tall can thanks Airforcehops best by Feb 2017 clear gold color with a nice white head. Aromas of caramel malt corn grass. Taste is overly sweet corn sizzyurp fructose malt liquor. Meh.

Bought a 40 for my wifes 40th birthday party. To no ones surprise, none of our guests drank it so it became my responsibility. Its annoyingly sweet for a corn-flavored lager and will give you a pretty solid hangover the next day. If your goal is to maximize your alcohol per dollar, this one is for you. On the bright side, the flavor wasnt wretched for something in this category.

Well, its bad. Fits the standard profile of cheap malt liquor, but I felt tough drinking it. Strong aroma of malt and alcohol. Light golden color with a syrupy and highly carbonated feel. Taste was strong alcohol with sweetness.

Aroma - fruity nature, wet cardboard, rubbing alcohol Appearance - the body is clean light amber, with steady nucleation. The head is about 1" and white, and settles slowly. Some lacing. Taste - is sweet and grassy. There is a bit of wet cardboard, unenjoyable fruitiness, grassy hops, and alcohol. Palate - light to medium body, thin texture, lively carbonation, and a slightly grassy and fruity finish. There is a slight unpleasant burn; bile is really induced.

(2009-ish New England roadtrip backlog jpg-recollected in tranquility). Dispensed in all innocence from a then quickly discarded tall can. Still smell the diesel gas-infused corn syrup emanating from this alumin(i)um alco-tallboy, gurgling hay sulphurs into a premature coda. The promise of headache from a gas/petrol/benzin station is universal and unique. Mandatory. Makes me want to open my 2012 vintage 1000ml Faxe artefact.

S.R. pours a mid yellow body a little carbonation, with a thin head. Aroma is of sweet corn, grass and grain. Flavor isnt as bad as the smell, mostly of grains and kinda sweet, mouthfeel was kinda thin. Overall its better than most of the other run of the mill macro beers. Originally rated on 10/26/08

Drink ice cold, sip until warm with your favorite album. Not tramp beer but one heck of a heavily malted lager. This beer has a place in between a good imperial stout or a mundane American (weak as ware) brew.

Can - Didnt pour it into a glass. Heavy carbonation. Skunky. Much malt, corn, probably rice. Got slightly warm and poured some out.
