March 11, 2017 - on tap at the Rare Beer Fest. Brown pour with limited head. Aroma and taste of whiskey and caramel. Labeled in the program as Batch #1 brewed 10/2/12. tennisjoel (1464) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Extra added in trade with jackl, thanks man! Murky brown pour with very little head that almost completely disappears. Strong oak and bourbon nose. Base beer also comes into play. Quite sweet tootsie roll like flavor with the bourbon. Not cloyingly sweet. Works pretty well with the barrel aging aspect. badgerben (5213) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - APR 27, 2016
Bottle. Murky dark red color with no head. Aroma of molasses, vanilla, caramel, red apple, and malt. A bit like dank cellar. Sweet malt flavor. Still some molasses, maple, and caramel. Light vanilla. A bot of oak on the finish. jackl (8210) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 24, 2016
Keg @ Steel Toe. Deep slightly hazy russet color with an offwhite head. Aroma is earthy and rich. Mild smoke and plenty of oak. Vanilla and toffee. Toasted earthy grain. Flavor of spiced dark fruit. Plum and baked red apples. Fruit skin. Toffee and baked brown bread. Woody heat. Fairly dry spicy finish. Flavors become much more cohesive as the beer warms to room temp. A bit boozy. Nice stuff. arminjewell (9688) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Pour on tap at All Pints North, dark brownish pour with khaki colored head, arom abrought nice notes of molasses, dark fruit, plum into some vanilla, oak, nice bourbon notes into a bit of spice. Taste was a mix of bourbon, oak, and vanilla into some slight booze, touch of spice into a bit of molasses, dark fruit, some toffee, finishing sweet, slight spice. Very well done, could be a bit more balanced however.

Draft at Steel Toe during RBSG. Caramel and toffee with a good dose of vanilla and a bunch of bourbony oak. I really like this one. Luckily I got to try this side by side with the non-BA version. portableparty (2362) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - AUG 16, 2013
On tap at brewery. Pours black with a thin tan collar. Aroma has sweet wood barrels and candied sugar with roasted English malt. Taste has a sweet booze with caramel, toffee malt and subtle bitter and spice. Palate is full slick and warming. Awesome! islay (2805) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 12, 2013
4 or 5 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s tap room. Consumed on 5-18-13. Very sweet, syrupy aroma features a remarkably candy-like smell as well as apricot. Pours a deep, hazy copper. Noteworthy taste features vanilla flavor. Lively in the palate. Medium to full body. Overall, too sweet but interesting. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2013
