22 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with Atom. Pours black with a moderate brown head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of roasted malt with ample chocolate and coffee present in the nose as well. Very inviting. The flavor is similar again with roasted malt and lots of chocolate and coffee. Moderate roast bitterness at the finish. Rich and smooth on the palate. Full bodied. Very nice beer! kjohns (131) - North Dakota, USA - APR 27, 2012
Nice black pour with foamy dark tan head. Aroma is earthy and quite chocolatey. Taste is rather sweet but not overly so. Lots of sweet chocolate, caramel, a little roasted malt and just a hint of bitter hops. Very easy drinking and quite tasty, even more so as it warms up. burg326 (5621) - Florida, USA - APR 16, 2012
22 ounce bottle that pours a dark brown with aromas of coffee, chocolate, resin, roasted malt, and a touch of dark fruits. Flavor is dark chocolate, coffee, some roasted malt, and has a smooth finish. This is my 4th beer from these guys, and haven’t been disappointed yet. islay (3038) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 15, 2012
22 oz. bottle, consumed on 4-13-12. Aroma features plum, dirt, carob, milk chocolate, chalk, peach, citrus, and muffin scents. Pours dark brown with a moderate amount of deep taupe / tan head. Produces okay, think lacing. Rich, melted-chocolate-like appearance. Lightly sweet yet dry taste. Flavors include dark, pitted fruit, crackers, and baked goods. Milky and creamy taste. Dry finish reminiscent of coffee with milk. Improves as it warms and upon multiple sips. Medium to heavy body. Lively, oily, and smooth in the palates. Overall, a good, not great, and not memorable brew. ryanfolty (2613) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - APR 13, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 Tap at brewery on april 13, 2012. Opaque dark brown pour with nice head and lacing. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, coffee and some chocolate. Little bit of carbonation, medium bodied and finish was a tad bitter.

Pour on tap at Winterfest 2012, dark brownish pour with thin tan head, aroma brought nice roasted malt, dark chocolate and slight coffee, hints of fruit in there as well, some nice molasses and caramel notes as well in there. Taste is a nice mix of chocolate and toffee, hints of coffee, nice roasted malt character with a bit of char, the oats give it a decent mouthfeel, finishes fairly bitter. bhensonb (15858) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Bomber from Guerde - thanks guy! Pours very dark brown with a slight dark tan head. Aroma is dark malt, chocolate, and a touch of resin. Ful bodied. Flavor is smooth burnt malt, very dark chocolate, coffee, and I think some resin. The bitter prickles in the mouth. Smooth and rich it is. Finishes burnt malt, chocolate, coffee and bitter. Good drink. chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2012
bottle... get for a stout not if you’re thinking black ipa... the aroma has tons of chocolate, sweet, a bit of vanilla, good... the taste is more of the chocolate but a bit more balanced, alcohol is a bit low for what it is, if this was 10%, would be a rock star pineypower (3346) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Extra in a recent trade, forget who though....thanks though. Pours out, well almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is of roast, some chocolate, coffee and light hoppy notes. Taste is cocoa, dark chocolately malts, light licorice and some mild bitterness in there. Smooth and nice drinking stout. dmac (6504) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JAN 12, 2012
Bottle shared by pineypower. Poured a solid pitch black body with an average to slightly smaller dark beige foamy head with a vigorous pour. Aroma is very roasty with light chocolate, well done toast and slight charcoal. Full body, dry, softer carbonation and a lingering roastiness. Flavor of charcoal, burnt malts and dark burnt chocolate. Solid beer.
