Bottle... Pours black with a small, wispy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma is robust and big-time roasty, offering notes of fudge, pouch tobacco, a shot of espresso and a hint of blackstrap molasses. Full-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is deeply roasted, rich and robust - espresso, dark chocolate, chocolate crème and vanilla. Roasty, charred finish with a kiss of mildly sweet chocolate. Thanks sparky! Dark brown pour, tan head. Roasty aroma, molasses, burned toast. Flavor is roast up front followed by some plums and chocolate. douglas88 (9789) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 29, 2015
Bomber. Pours a wonderful jet black color with a large light brown creamy head. A great nose of metal, dark fruit, heavy roast. Oats make this very creamy and full, big dark chocolate, some lactose, the roast is pretty heft, metallic lingering licorice and bitter hop notes. Lovely beer. Yeah, 7% big old stout is my kind of beer. arminjewell (9725) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Pour on tap at Winterfest 2012, dark brownish pour with thin tan head, aroma brought nice roasted malt, dark chocolate and slight coffee, hints of fruit in there as well, some nice molasses and caramel notes as well in there. Taste is a nice mix of chocolate and toffee, hints of coffee, nice roasted malt character with a bit of char, the oats give it a decent mouthfeel, finishes fairly bitter.

Bomber to snifter (thanks kbutler1). Looks good; black with tan lacing. Smells malty and a little roasty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid beer. Ibrew2or3 (8912) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Courtesy of hellbilly. Pours deep and dark with nice looking mocha like head. The light aroma offers up earthy notes, some dark roasted malts and a touch of chocolate. The taste is pretty rich with dark roasted malts and some chocolate that roll headlong into some spicy and earthy hops. The earthy hops seem to give a sense of oxidation that may detract from the experience, but not for me. BuckeyeBoy (8859) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 28, 2016
22oz bottle thanks to Steve. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Nose is roast malts some coffee milk chocolate. Taste is more of the roast malts some coffee light roast malts. jackl (8535) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 13, 2014
Keg @ Happy Gnome. Brown with a small head. Nose of burnt brown sugar, cream, roasted nuts. Ash. Nice and full. Taste is wonderfully creamy, substantial. Lactose, rocky road fudge. Slightly peppery hops. Some burnt espresso. Medium body, supple and a bit oily. Wow. Credit where it’s due. Very nice.
