COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

Pours rich gold with white fizz. Dense pale malts and earthy citrus hops in the nose. Full flavored ipa, quite strong bitter with a combination of pine and orange peel, resins and somewhat oily. Well placed pale malts match the hops for flavor but not the intensity. Somewhat brisk finish with lasting pine earthy hops. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottle @ Richard’s tasting. Orange pour with a white head. Big orange, pine, and herbal hop aromas. Caramel, sugar, and some tea, too. Flavor is sweet caramel up front followed by a strong bitterness. Lots of herbs and pine. Some orange peel, tea, and a bit of a floral note.

22 oz. bottle. A deuce deuce, if you will. Pours a nice bright orange pour with a small white head. Aroma of aromatic pine and spruce, some resin and herbal notes as well. Flavor is very bitter. Strong hop bitterness, focusing mostly on the pine and resin notes. Very soft, mild tea like sweetness. A bit heftier bodied than your typical IPA. Average carbonation, with a long bitter finish. Really nice IPA.

Draft at Steel Toe. From notes. Citrus and earthy floral hops with a solid malt backbone to balance it out. Enjoyable.

Pour is hazy amber with white head and little lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine malts. Taste is moderatly sweet with nice citrus and piney notes, caramel, long lasting bitterness and astrigent-dry finish. Low-medium body and medium carbonation. A good ipa but nothing impressive.

Tap. Pour is orange Amber, white head. Aroma is pine and citrus, some malt body, resin in the back. Taste is roasted malt with a pine kicker, resin seeps in, some light grapefruit like citrus.

Sadly, this may have been older than it should have been. Aroma of fruity malts, citrus hops, and slight resin. Pours bronze with a nice medium head. Taste had nice thick citrus notes with apricot and malts. Not to bad but I want to try it fresh next time.

A wonderful surprise. I did not expect much, but found a great IPA. Ready to challenge Surly as best brew in the Twin Cities.

Draft at brewery. Bubblegummy hop aroma. Beautiful, hazy amber body with similarly beautiful lace. Really nice sweet hop flavor. Hint of hemp in the nose while sipping. I’m a huge fan.
