While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

22 oz. bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a clear golden amber color with a small white head. The aroma had a mild malt backbone, but is dominated by grapefruit citrus, resin and a splash of caramel. The flavor opens with a big grapefruit, resin, pine hop profile; caramel malts, moderately dry with a moderate bitterness. This is a solid IPA.

Can split at Islo tasting, thanks to Jay kay, 04/10/16. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is floral hop, toasted malts, tangerine, lemon tinged straw. Taste comprises tangerine, light caramel, floral, toasted grains, perfume. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness. Decent IPA if a touch on the sweet side.

October 2016 - Can share at CBC Islington. As ’Steel Toe Size 7 IPA’. Many thanks to JK! Dark golden yellow, still, clear, foamy off-white head, full lacing. Aroma is floral, toffee apple, chalky. Body is light, spritzy carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is toffee and sweet caramel, boiled sweets, flowery, flint, dries out into the finish. Pretty good. (3.5)

12 oz can. (Ale Jail) St Paul, MN.
Clear golden color with a mid-size foamy white head. Cookies, sweetness, malt and mild fruity hops in the aroma. The flavor is mild piney and resiny hops, mild bitterness and cookie maltiness. Pretty decent IPA.

12 oz. can from TheHOFF43 - thanks again, Kyle! Pours a clear orange-hued gold with an inch of frothy barely off-white head that settles into a ring and patchy big island of film. Heavy sticky lace. Toasted and caramel malt backbone, with leafy, grassy, tea-like, and slightly piney hops. A suggestion of grapefruit peel, and a light dash of nuttiness. Light-medium bodied, with a malty, bitter mouthfeel and light carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Good IPA. Need to try again fresher.

Craft Islington Gathering. Thanks to JK for the can. Clear bright gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light sweetish pale malts. Good soft hop skunk and pine. Juicy citrus and tropical fruits. Finishes spicy tropical. Everything light and in good balance with each other. My favourite beer of the event.

Can thanks to JK. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, lemon sherbet, pine needles, candy, soft sugar and some lemonade. The taste is crisp, bitter - sweet, sherbet, candied peel, sugar, pretty mellow, soft sweetness, pine needles and some green grassy notes..medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty decent gear.

Pretty standard IPA, piney and very hoppy, significantly bitter beginning to end. Aftertaste too bitter for me. Nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
