Minnesota Trip Beer #44. Keg at the brewery, 5/8/16. Tasted in spring, rated in fall! Hazy orange, thin creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of strong yeast, citrus, banana. The taste is yeast, wheat, banana, spice. Medium bodied, assertive carbonation. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Picked up single 22-oz bomber at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a semi-clear golden pale colored brew with a thick off-white head that has some good retention. Aroma of banana esters, golden grain malt, a hint of tropical pineapple and a touch of clove. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of both banana, clove esters, a hint of honey, a touch of pineapple and bread. Finish is semi-sweet with a banana ester and floral hop aftertaste. A solid American hefeweizen throughout. badgerben (5387) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - AUG 8, 2016
Copper color with a towering head. Bready malt aroma with light banana. Ligt Munich malt flavor, toasty barley and hints of buttered bread. Yeasty, but not distinctly hefe-esque. Full body. jackl (8597) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2016
Keg @ Steel Toe. Hazy deep gold pour with a white head. Nose has strong banana and clove. Somewhat unpleasant eggy notes. Flavor is pretty sweet. Eggy banana bread.lught pepper in the finish. Medium body, soft carb. commonshawn (1344) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 20, 2015
Tap at republic uptown with commonmac. Pint glass. Clear dark gold with medium small head. Subtle aroma. Lightly sweet and very mild . Doesn’t taste like a hefeweisen. Grainy and bland. Easy to drink. Pass.

Draft at the brewery in Minneapolis. Cloudy yellow color. Not bad but not the best weiss.

This one is just ok....not my favorite style....drinkable but not that enjoyable(#490) Braudog (6944) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Draft at the brewery. Slightly hazy and golden. Perfect aroma -- banana, one of the oddest resulting beer aromas ever, I need to learn the science of that. This drinks with a sweet edge, same banana, and even a little pineapple. Creamy feel. For style, quite good and quite authentic to the Bavarians. Grayed out golden pour, hazy and laced. Lemon oil, cleaning product, clove and banana nose with a healthful dose of pleasing mineral water content. Undetailed and clean.

Soda cracker, lemon zest, spearmint flavor, cooling and soft. Low on stylistic checkpoints, higher on those herbs and general plucky tartness than the cushy banana and bread sweetness. Lightly pungent and evocative tarragon notes.
Zippy, mineral water clean texture; simple white bread flavor mid palate leading to a dry, soft finish. This example is an archetype of this brewery’s style, a key aspect of which is its attention to texture, balance and cleanness.
Pint pour at Muddy Waters in Minneapolis while watching Germany demolish Brazil in the World Cup. Pours a hazy, cloudy, opaque, light orange-ish tan with a small amount of beige head. Apricot nectar-like appearance. Looks good. Scents of tart green apple, honey, minerals, and watermelon. Very strong aroma. Nice, creamy hefeweizen taste features a cinnamon element. Tart flavor. Frothy and lively in the palate. Light body. Very good palate, especially for a hefeweizen. Overall, Steel Toe Sommer Vice is an above average hefeweizen. The flavors aren’t strong but they are pleasant, and the appearance, aroma, and palate stand out.
