Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Bread, caramel, and butterscotch aroma up front. Floral hops, a bit of grass, pine, and a definite cardboard note. A touch of roast and some toast. A light bitterness to the flavor, quite a bit of cardboard, and a prevailing butterscotch flavor. Caramel malt, toffee, and toasted bread sweetness. Floral, earthy, and pint hops on the finish. Just moved to San Francisco and this was the first beer from the area that I tried. Zeitgeist had pitchers for 12 or 13 bucks which I thought was pretty fair. I enjoyed this beer enough to get another pitcher after the first one, but I also wouldn’t say this is a must have xsketchyx (184) - Oregon, USA - MAR 18, 2004
Decent lightly hopped amber. Not much of an aroma to speak of though. Not the slightest bit offensive but not terribly innovative either. Crit (3973) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 3, 2002
NOTE: only drink in Eugene..other locations not up to snuff.
Sparkling amber with great lace. Roasted malt nose.Toasted malt taste with a medium hop finish.Good balance
A wonderful Oregon beer, that pales in other locations heykevin (1281) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - MAR 28, 2002
Caramelly sweet is well-balanced by nice but muted hops. Not as much in the hop department as I would like to see in this style, but nice none the less.

This shoe is stinky! Some malt flavors. How can this whole place reek of sterilant and this beer still suck with bad bacteria? Why would an establishment serve this?
