12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a with a lacing white head. Aroma is mild spiced with a light cardboard dryness. Flavour is solid hoppy with a nice caramel malt base nicely complimenting the hops oil Flavours contain some liqourice and light note of wood. Ends dry and hoppy with a mild bite into the finish.

A: The pour is a slightly hazy golden amber color with a white head and some nice lacing. S: A really good citrus hop aroma to the nose to start things off. Plenty of tropical fruit notes, particularly pineapples, too. Pretty straightforward, but really nice. T: The hop flavor is really big and juicy with a fair amount of citrus/grapefruit and lots of pineapple. There’s a bit of a caramel flavor as well as some mild breadiness that weren’t really noticeable on the nose. M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation. D: A surprisingly solid IPA. I really quite liked this beer and would definitely not have a problem ordering it if I find myself at Steelhead again.

On tap at Steelhead Burlingame poured a clear golden amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, orange zest and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of crackers, orange, pink grapefruit and light pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering citrus finish.

Sample at the Burlingame brewpub. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of citrusy hops, toasted malt and a bit of pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Strykzone (7557) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 19, 2008
Somewhat cloudy light brown with a small yellowish head. A spidery ring. Aroma features hops galore with grapefruit and some sugar. Flavor features grapefruit and pine along with some funk. The hops are balanced but not by caramel. It is more sugar which serves to offer little flavor thus enhancing the hop profile. A bitter aftertaste. A good beer but very one dimensional.

Draft at the Burlingame brewery. Clear copper with a medium white head. Citrusy hop aroma, fairly standard. Decently balanced flavor, a good hop kick. Citrusy. The palate is slightly resinous, body medium-plus. Fine but this style demands better.
